Steps to create a power point presentation

1. Choose the template theme

When you open Power Point, click Design to choose the ideal template for your presentation.

The theme options will appear in the toolbar and you can click on each one to see how your

content fits into the template.

In the top right corner, you can customize other details of the template such as colors, fonts,

styles, and sizes. Simply click on Variants and Customize to explore the existing options.

2. Insert new slides

To create new slides in your PowerPoint presentation, click the Insert > New Slide tab in the

upper left corner.

Selecting this field will display various types of slides: Title Slide, Title and Content, Section

Header, among others. You must click on the one that shows the structure you want for each

specific slide.

3. Add texts

To insert text into your slide, go to the Home tab, click Insert, and then click Text Box. Using

the right mouse button, select the space on the slide where you want to insert the content
4. Format the texts

In the toolbar, you will find several ways to customize your text.

You can change the font and size of the text; highlight words by placing them in bold, italics or

underlined; change the color of the text; change the paragraph settings; among other formats.

5. Use images

Adding visuals to your PowerPoint presentation not only helps convey the desired information,

but makes the presentation more creative and dynamic.

In this sense, you can use infographics, tables and figures. The content will be much more

educational for the person viewing it and will enhance the understanding of your message.

To add images, click on the Insert option. Next, select the Images option and choose what you

want to add. Depending on your computer model, you can also drag an image directly from

the folder onto the slide. To do this, simply select it with the right mouse button in the original

location and drop it on the desired slide.

6. Use the notes

At the bottom of the screen is a notes panel where you can record information you want to

cover at that point in your PowerPoint presentation.

This feature allows the speaker to have a note reminding them of everything they need to say

while the slide is being shown to the audience, even with blank text on the slide.

The note box appears on the computer screen, but is not transmitted to the projector.

Therefore, only you will have access to that information.

This resource makes things easier for those who are afraid of forgetting important information

and do not want to bring printed notes to the presentation. Recording notes in that space can

be a good option!

7-Slide transition options

In PowerPoint, you can add animation effects between slide transitions. To do this, you must

select the slide you want by clicking on it. The chosen effect will be added to the transition of

the previous slide you selected earlier. That is, if you selected the third slide, the animation will

occur when you move from the second to the third slide in the presentation. After selecting

the slide, click on the Transitions tab. Several details will appear in the toolbox to define. You

need to select the desired effect and then click Effect Options.
8. Explore sound effects

In PowerPoint, you can also add audio to slides to complement your presentation. Click the

Insert tab, select the Media and Audio file option to access the file picker. Select the audio you

want to add.

9. Save your presentations in Power Point

When you finish your presentation, don't forget to save the document on your computer. Click

on the file icon. Select the folder where you want to save the document on your computer,

give your PowerPoint presentation a name, and click Save.
