Job Details:
We are seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Laboratory Technician (1 post) at our school
located in Kisugu.

Job Summary:
The Laboratory Technician will be responsible for supporting science laboratory by conducting a variety of
experiments, assisting subject teachers with the setup of specimens and equipment, and aiding students
in conducting laboratory experiments. Responsibilities include requesting the purchase of laboratory
specimens and equipment, entering data for reporting, storing samples, cleaning equipment, and
providing necessary technical support to ensure the laboratory functions effectively while adhering to
standard operating procedures for education and safety. Additionally, the technician will assist the subject
teacher in monitoring and maintaining the laboratory, making detailed observations, managing laboratory
inventory, taking preventive protective actions, and ensuring compliance with health and safety guidelines
in the laboratory.

Minimum Requirements:
- Diploma in Laboratory Technology/Education or a related discipline (a degree is an added advantage).
- At least 3 years of experience in a similar role or related function.
-The ideal candidate should possess sound values, good laboratory practices, laboratory waste
management and disposal skills, basic statistical knowledge, forecasting, teaching and management
skills, team management abilities, effective communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, a results-
driven attitude, the ability to work independently and take initiative, and demonstrated discretion.
