CLASSROOM SAFETY and PROCEDURES:

 Projects are a major component of the course which take place in the regular classroom and will involve
working with small tools such as hammers, X-acto knives, scissors, etc. Larger tools such drill presses,
sanders, scroll saws and hot foam cutters may also be used. Following appropriate safety procedures is
essential, therefore students will be required to successfully pass a lab safety procedures test with ? %
accuracy prior to participation to use the tools and be able to go into the machine lab.
***Because of safety in the classroom and lab, students who misuse any of the tools will be
referred to the appropriate administration that might result in being removed from the class.

 Students are required to wear safety glasses on some small projects and while they are working with
the larger tools in the machine lab. We have a class set, but if you would prefer to purchase your
student his or her own safety glasses, they are welcome to keep them in the classroom.

 Students will be responsible for using the computer assigned to them and using the internet only for
class research and projects unless otherwise instructed. Students who misuse another student’s
computer or are on websites that do not pertain to class research/projects will result in an MBI.
****Discipline for behavior will be followed according to the school discipline procedures.

 If a student is absent, it is the responsibility of the student to complete and turn in work (test, projects,
classwork etc…) one (1) week from the day they were absent or he/she will receive a grade of ? for that
work. The Learning Platfom? for classwork can be logged onto through the internet at home for students
who need to catch up on work not completed in class. Students will not be allowed to work on past
projects or uncompleted classwork during class unless time permits. All missed or incomplete
work/projects will need to be made up outside of our regular class time.

 Because of the nature of the class, computers, machines etc. any and all food, candy, gum or drinks or
not allowed in the classroom or machine lab. We have two water fountains near us in the hallway so
students will have access to water if needed. There are NO EXCEPTIONS!

CLASS GUIDELINES:
