Instructions
Flip a coin (click here) to determine inherited alleles then complete all
columns in the charts provided.
❖ Using the coin flip simulator, flip to determine which allele the
offspring inherited from each parent; heads = dominant allele and tails
= recessive allele.
❖ For the sex of the offspring, only the father’s allele must be
determined; so for the coin flip, heads = X and tails = Y,
❖ Once the allele has been determined, place a circle around the
corresponding letter.

emoji using the traits of the emojis
each of you created. Fill in the
genotype columns from each
partners first emoji genotype. Flip
the coin (heads=first letter and tails
the second letter from the chart of
each parent). Complete the
following chart then provide a
portrait of the new emoji. Don’t
forget to give the new emoji a name!
