22. The co-ordinates of one end point of a diameter of a circle are (4, -1) and
co-ordinates of the centre of circle are (1, -3). Find the coordinates of the other end
of the diameter .
23. Find the ratio in which the point P (4, m ) divides the join of A(2 , 3 ) and
B ( 6 , -3 ) .Hence find m.
24. Evaluate :

25. Red queens and black jacks are removed from a pack of 52 playing cards . A
card is drawn at random from the remaining cards , after reshuffling them . Find
the probability that ( i ) the drawn card is king ( ii ) the drawn card is of red
colour.
OR
A die is thrown twice. What is the probability that

(i) 5 will not come up either time?

(ii) 5 will come up at least once?

26. Prove that √2 is an irrational number.

27. If 𝛼 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝛽 are zeroes of the polynomial 6𝑥 2 - 7x - 3 , then form a quadratic

Find the zeroes of the quadratic polynomial 2𝑡 2 − 5𝑡 + 3 and verify the

relationship between the zeroes and the coefficients.

28. A plane left 30 minutes late than its scheduled time and in order to reach the
destination 1500 km away in time, it had to increase its speed by 100 km/h from the
usual speed. Find its usual speed.

29 In the figure , A , B and C are points on OP , OQ and OR respectively such


that AB ∥ PQ and AC ∥ PR . Show that BC ∥ QR .

Sides AB and BC and median AD of a triangle ABC are respectively proportional

SECTION D
32. A railway half ticket cost half the full fare but the reservation charges are the
same on a half ticket as on a full ticket. One reserved first class ticket from the stations
A to B costs Rs. 2530. Also, one reserved first class ticket and one reserved first class
half ticket from stations A to B costs Rs. 3810. Find the full first class fare from stations
A to B and also the reservation charges for a ticket.
OR

A man earns Rs.6000 per month more than his wife. One tenth of the man's salary
and one – sixth of the wife's salary amount to Rs.15000 , which is saved every
month. Find their incomes.

33. . In the given figure, XY and X'Y' are two parallel tangents to a circle with centre
O and another tangent AB with point of contact C, is intersecting XY at A and X'Y'

at B. Prove that ∠ AOB = 90°

34. A man standing on the deck of a ship, which is 10 m above the water level,
observes the angle of elevation of the top of a hill as 60∘, and the angle of depression
of the base of the hill as 30∘. Find the distance of the hill from the ship and the height
of the hill.
35. A survey regarding the heights (in cm) of 50 girls of Class X of a school was
conducted and the following data were obtained:

36. Aditya is celebrating his birthday. He invited his friends. He bought a packet of
candies which contains 120 candies. He arranges the candies such that in the first
row there are 3 candies, in second there are 5 candies, in third there are 7 candies
and so on.

(i) Find the difference between the number of candies in the first two rows.
(ii) Find the number of candies in the 8th row.
(iii ) ( a ) Find the total number of rows

( b )Find the number of candies in the last row
37. Two trees are standing parallel to each other. The bigger tree 8m high casts a
shadow of 6m.

Based on the above information answer the following questions.

whether ∆AEB ~ ∆CED
( ii ) if the ratio of the height of two trees is 3 : 1 then find the length of the

( b) if the ratio of the height of two trees is 4 : 1 then find the length of the
shadow of the smaller tree.
38. In a coffee shop, coffee is served in two types of cups. One is cylindrical in
shape with diameter 7 cm and height 14 cm and the other is hemispherical with
diameter 21 cm.
