Q1: Problem statement: A TTT kVA transformer has a primary winding resistance of [5]
0.7 Ω and a secondary winding resistance of 0.015 Ω. The iron loss is 3 kW and the
primary and secondary voltages are XX kV and 400 V, respectively. If the power
factor of the load is 0.85, calculate the efficiency of the transformer (a) on full load,
(b) on half load, (c) if your calculated efficiency on full load is less than 91%, then
propose a suggestion with proper calculation to achieve that efficiency.

Answer: TTT =

XX =

Q2: Problem statement: An 8 pole dc long-shunt compound generator with YYY wave- [5]

connected armature conductors and running at TTT rpm delivers a load of 20 Ω at

400V and has armature, series field, and shunt field resistance of 0.06 Ω, 0.035 Ω,
and 220 Ω respectively. Calculate the generated voltage, load current, armature
current, the flux per pole. Allow 1 V per brush for contact drop.
