Adding Menu Items and Employees


OPEN POS CONFIGURATOR

ENTER YOUR SIGN IN NUMBER TO THE SYSTEM

CLICK ON THE MENU ITEM TAB TO OPEN.

THE FILE WILL OPEN TO THE INDEX

HIGHLIGHT A CURRENT LIKE ITEM, CLICK ON THE Copy Record BUTTON AT THE TOP CENTER AND THEN CLICK ON THE Paste Record BUTTON NEXT TO IT. CHANGE THE NAME, PRICE (p.9), PRINT CLASS (p.5) AND REQUIRED CONDIMENTS (p.6).

OR YOU CAN: HIGHLIGHT THE PROPER HEADER (i.e. appt, salads, soups), CLICK THE (+) KEY AND INSERT THE NAME OF NEW ITEM

YOU WILL NEED TO FILL IN THESE AREAS 1. SLU-this will place it on the touchscreen at workstation.

2. Menu Items Class-check the item above to see what was assigned.

3. Menu Level Class-check the item above to see what was assigned.

4. Print Class-tell the new items where you want it to print. Click (yellow) folder to see list of printers, or pulled down the arrow and assign printer, or look at item above to see what was assigned.

Click Groups header to get here. Fill in the Menu Item Group It is usually 101 All Items

Only fill Required Condiments if needed.

This needs to be filled in so you can go to the Food Prep Screen If you dont have Food Condiments in the box, you will Receive error when hitting the Prep key.

CLICK the REPORTING header You need to make sure to input a Major Group You need to make sure to input a Family Group Hit (yellow) folders to see what is there.

You will need to enter the price of the item. (need to use decimal) Price level 1-4 are used when you have different prices at lunch and dinner or you have a happy hour. Check the items above to see what level they are on.

THIS IS TABLE VIEW YOU CAN USE THIS WHEN INSERTING MORE THAN 1 MENU ITEM OR NEED TO MAKE CHANGES TO ITEMS. F2 is to delete a field F3 is to copy a field F4 is to paste a field When to use F3 you must highlight the line you want to copy and press F3. It will move you down to next line When to use F4 you just keep hitting F4 to fill in all the lines that you want the same. When to use F2 you just highlight the word to remove and hit F2 YOU CAN ONLY USE THE F2, F3, and F4 in TABLE VIEW.

ONCE ALL WORK IS COMPLETE HIT THE (green check mark) ON THE TOP TO SAVE YOUR WORK THEN YOU CAN GO TO FILE AND HIT EXIT TO GET OUT OF THE MENU ITEM FILE The (+) sign allows you to add The (-) sign allows you to delete The (red arrow) allows you to undo before you save it or after a mistake is made in typing. If (red arrow) is grayed out it has already been saved.

CLICK ON THE EMPLOYEES TAB THEN CLICK ON EMPLOYEES

HIGHLIGHT THE PROPER HEADER (i.e. server, bartender, hostess, cook, or busser) CLICK THE (+) KEY TO START A NEW RECORD TYPE THE PERSONS LAST NAME, THEN THE FIRST NAME, AND THEN THEIR SSN.

FILL IN PAYROLL ID as applicable


Ususally used for payroll interfaces (USUALLY SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER)

FILL IN PASSWORD ID
CAN BE ANY NUMBER (USUALLY THE LAST FOUR OF THE EMPLOYEES SSN ARE USED OR THIS IS WHERE THE SWIPED NUMBER FROM THE MANAGER CARD IS STORED BOTH FOR FOH ACCESS)

PC APPLICATION ID
IS ONLY FOR MEMBERS OF MANAGEMENT WHO WILL NEED TO LOG IN TO THE SYSTEM (I.E. GETTING INTO POS CONFIGURATOR, MANAGER PROCEDURES, CREDIT CARD UTILITIES and AUTOSEQUENCE/REPORTS ON THE SERVER)

EMPLOYEE CLASS
THIS IS THEIR LEVEL OF ACCESS TO THE FOH TERMINALS

BACK OFFICE EMPLOYEE CLASS


THIS IS THEIR LEVEL OF ACCESS TO THE IN POS CONFIGURATOR, MANAGER PROCEDURES and AUTOSEQUENCE ON THE SERVER)

COMPARE WITH ANOTHER LIKE EMPLOYEE TO GET THE CORRECT REVENUE CENTER FOR THE ABOVE

CLICK on the POS tab YOU WILL NEED TO GIVE THE EMPLOYEE A REVENUE CENTER
(I.E. IF YOU HAVE A RESTAURANT, BAR, or CARRYOUT SEPERATED BY SALES YOU WILL HAVE TO ASSIGN THE CORRECT REVENUE CENTER)

IF THE EMPLOYEE IS PUTTING HIS OR HER MONEY INTO A CASH DRAWER ON EVERY TRANSACTION, YOU WILL THEN NEED TO HIT CASH DRAWER 1 OR 2 (as applicable)
(ONLY BARTENDERS, CARRYOUT, CASHIER, AND MANAGER CLASSES SHOULD NEED CASH DRAWER INFORMATION FILLED OUT)

ENTER A LANGUAGE AND A START DATE COMPARE WITH ANOTHER LIKE EMPLOYEE TO GET THE CORRECT REVENUE CENTER FOR THE ABOVE

CLICK the JOB RATES tab CLICK ON THE (+) BUTTON ON THE RIGHT SIDE HIGHLIGHT THE CORRECT JOB CLASS UNDER NAME
(I.E. SERVERS, BARTENDER, SHIFT MANAGER, ETC.)

COMPARE WITH ANOTHER LIKE EMPLOYEE TO GET THE CORRECT REVENUE CENTER FOR THE ABOVE

ONCE YOU HAVE FINISH ALL ENTRIES YOU NEED TO CLICK THE GREEN CHECK TO SAVE YOUR WORK

MANAGER PROCEDURES FUNCTIONS


FUNCTIONS CAN BE DONE @ A WORKSTATION (MANAGER SCREEN PROCEDURES BUTTON OR YOU CAN USE ONE OF THE SHORTCUT KEYS ON THE MANAGER SCREEN) or IN THEBACK OFFICE (THE MGR PROCEDURES OR PROCEDURES ICON ON THE DESKTOP.)

TO SET MENU ITEM AVAILABILITY, CLICK ON MENU ITEMS ON THE TOP TOOL BAR AND THEN SET AVAILABILITY

Choose they item you have a limitation on and Click (Edit)

It will show that it is currently available Click on Not Available to immediately 86 the item OR Click on Limited Availability Click on Available Countcalculator Enter in the amount and Click OK You will then see the count in the windows Click OK After this is done the menu item will display the number left. Once you have sold all a red X will display on the menu item key. You will need to Click OK to get back to the original screen. The next day you will need to go back in a make it Currently Available again as needed.

To PROGRAM A MANAGER CARD TO SWIPE, first set up the manager employee record (p.12 )in POS Configurator on the back office server

Click on Employees on the top tool bar And then Edit ID

Use the up and down arrows or use the virtual keyboard to highlight the employee and then click Edit

Take the new manager card and swipe it through the mag-card reader of the FOH terminal The info on the card will update the New ID field here as well as the Password ID field for this employee on the office server The screen will then automatically go back to the previous screen where you can then hit Back

To ADJUST AN EMPLOYEES TIME CARD, click Employees on the top tool bar

And then Click Edit Time Card

Use the up and down arrows or use the virtual keyboard to highlight the employee and then click Edit

If the employee is currently clocked in, you will be asked if you want to clock him/her out

Highlight the record you wish to change (the most recent will be on top) Click Edit

Click the calendar box next to the clock in OR clock out Date/Time field

Highlight/confirm the date on the calendar Click the Set Hour key and click on the new hour Click the Set Minute key and click the new minute Click the desired AM or PM key Verify all info and then click OK Then click OK and Done

Highlight the appropriate reason for adjustment Click OK

To RE-DIRECT PRINTERS

Click Printers on the top tool bar to get to this screen Highlight the printer you wish to redirect Click Redirect Printer

Highlight the printer you want things to now go to. Click OK Verify the change

AUTOSEQUENCE and REPORTS

Enter your PC Application ID# Click OK

Your screen will look similar to this..

PRE- CLOSE should be run before leaving the site.


This will look for Open Checks and People that are still on the clock. If these are both satisfied, it will then print out a Daily System Sales report.

OPEN CHECK REPORT- run this to look for open checks on the system. CLOCK in STATUS lets you know who is still on the clock.

AUTOSEQUENCE and REPORTS


WHERE YOU RETRIEVE INDIVIDUAL REPORTS

SALES gives you system sales reports and consolidated (monthly) TIPS gives you what was declared in tips by staff TAX gives you a daily or consolidated system tax report TIME PERIODS gives you breakdown of sales (lunch, dinner, or bunch) SERVING PERIODS gives you breakdown of sales (lunch, dinner, or bunch) by serving period CASH MANAGEMENT gives you the info for this module as applicable GUEST CHECKS to view closed or open checks on system (90 days)

EMPLOYEE gives you individual employee balance reports and consolidated (monthly) CASHIER if you are using cashier to close out checks LABOR gives you everything dealing with labor (time card, job summary, or employee summary) KDS (Kitchen Display System) gives reports for this integrated system as applicable FAMILY GROUP give you totals from specific or all family groups. MAJOR GROUP gives you totals of your major groups MENU ITEM GROUP gives you totals of your menu item groups MENU ITEM gives you specific menu items or entire menu item list. GSS (Guest Services Solution) gives you the info for this module as applicable OTHER gives you team service and other misc reports
