III. Learning Activities


A. Preliminary Activities
a. Have the pupils answer the word puzzle.

b. Review
Encircle the synonym of the following words.
B. Lesson Proper
1. Motivation/Activating Prior Knowledge
Teacher presents 2 pictures of a clean house and dirty house. Talk
about the pictures.

Ask: What picture do you like? Picture A or B? Why?


Do you like to play in clean yard? Why?

2. Presentation
Teacher will read a story about the picture presented.

Discussion and answering questions based on the story heard.


1. Who are the characters in the story?
2. What words describes the house of Ana? How about the house of Ela?
3. With the activity that we have, what do you think is our lesson for today?

Use again the picture of two houses.


Say: These two pictures show opposites.
Let the pupils read sentences written on the board. (Write the antonyms on
the board.)
3. Developmental Activities
Activity 1
Present pair of objects like cotton, glass, new dress, etc.
(Digital Flash cards)
Answer each question by describing each object. Use the
correct antonym.

Activity 2
Use the pictures presented in activity 1 plus other objects like
some fruits, a book, a notebook, etc.
From the objects, select two from which you will write two pairs
of sentences using the correct antonym to describe the object.

Activity 3
Group the class into three. Write antonyms.
The first group who can finish to write as many as they can will
win.
4. Oral Generalization
How will you give the antonym of a given descriptive word?

5. Application
Give the antonym of the given words.

6. Written Generalization

IV. Evaluation:
Give the antonyms that describes given picture. Choose your answers
on the box below.
