QUESTIONS:

1. What can you say about the learning environment?

- In this times of pandemic, we are in an online learning in which Google meet

and Zoom meetings are the new learning environment of the students. In my
almost 4 weeks of observation I can definitely say that the learning environment is
very comfortable and safe for the students to learn. At the same time, there are
problems occurred and distract the students learning also because we cannot
deny the fact that we don’t have that stable connection all the time. We are also
experiencing power interruption which hinders the learner to attend the
visual/online class. However, this new learning environment is comfortable and
safe because teachers and parents makes sure to implies the rules and
regulations on how to use and manage technology during the online classes to
prevent distractions to the learners learning’s.

2. How can the teacher further promote a fair learning environment?

- Promoting fairness in the classroom not only gives the teacher respect but
also gives the students a sense of safeness and trust within the classroom.
Creating an environment that revolves around fairness, trust and respect will be
beneficial to all of the children in the class. Accommodations will help students
achieve these academic goals, which can be instructional or environmental
changes that help students to successfully understand and respond to the regular
curriculum. These kinds of accommodations may be a change of seating in the
classroom, sitting up front during story time or allowing more time on an exam.
Teaching classroom rules and procedures will contribute to a safe and secure
environment for students. For example, instead of “Don’t talk when others are
speaking”, phrasing it as “listen to one another” tells students what to do,
focusing on the proper behavior.

II. Processing. Answer the following questions:

1. What could have contributed to the presences or absence of a fair learning

environment?

-The importance of building safe learning environments for your learners is

something that cannot be overstated. While it's true that every student learns a
bit differently from the next, the environment itself plays a significant role in their
development. Safe learning environments translate into comfortable learning
environments. They are places where learners feel at home. Show your
students that you yourself are comfortable in the environment that you've
created. Then before you know it they will begin to grow more at ease
themselves.

2. How does a fair learning environment affect the way children learn?

-A fair learning environment is an indispensable part of learning. It is in a

fair environment that a student feels comfortable; a place where healthy
relationships with peers and teachers flourish. In a fair environment, the process
of learning becomes something that students easily adapt to and look forward to.
To achieve this environment, young students need to be nurtured with love ,care
and support. As we all know, today, learning in a school involves more than just
being exposed to information and set content. Simply put, a positive classroom
environment is essential as it enables students to be inquirers and explorers and
true leaders of their own learning, A fair learning environment is where students
are able to work as a team, celebrate each other’s achievements and learn from
mistakes. It enhances students’ ability to learn and to be productive in the rue
sense of learning things on their own.

teacher’s
responses on the interview. Answer the following questions:

1.Do you think that the classroom structure is consistent with the teacher’s

Why not?

- The classroom structure is consistent with the teacher’s objectives

because as what my teacher responded on the interview questions, despite of all
the changes she is willing to embrace and adapt to it in order to deliver the lesson
properly and meaningfully. Also, she always make sure to have all the means in
order to get the attention of the students and engage in all the activities and
discussions.

2. How does the classroom set-up affect the student’s performance and learning?

- Now, the online classroom set-up and based on the answer of my

cooperating teacher it affects the students’ performance and learning especially
lack of focus of the students to their studies. We cannot deny the fact that we are
experiencing low internet connectivity which leads to reduce of motivation of a
students in attending their virtual class. This classroom set-up really affects the
students performance and learning because we cannot monitor what they are
doing while the discussion are still going on and because of this situations the
teachers are not that hands on due to lack of physical interaction.

3. If you were the teacher, what kind of classroom structure would you adopts to
maximize
the students’ learning?

- Poor behavior in the classroom is directly related to poor classroom

structure. When students are not aware of the expectations of the class, naturally,
they will push boundaries to discover where the boundaries lie. So if I would be
the teacher the kind pf classroom structure I would adopt to maximize the
students’ learning is that the authoritative set up in which I should impose the

2. What do you think is the best virtual classroom set-up to encourage the
students to
engage in the activity?

- For me, the best virtual classroom set-up to encourage the students to
engage the activity is that, virtual classroom must be comfortable and creative.
Teachers should use different styles in making activities as well as presenting
lessons in a creative one to catch the attentions of the students and also they will
be more motivated to participate and engage to the activities given to them. To
add more, teachers should make the activity fun, enjoyable and full of learning’s
that can relate and use in real life situations.

3. What strategies should the teacher use to make the students participate in
class?

- There are different kinds of strategies to make the students participate in

class. One strategy is that, teachers should ask good questions. Ask good questions
to your students and you’ll drive rich, engaging discussions that are open to everyone.
When students answer a question, engage with their response. Even if it’s incorrect or
misinformed, recognize their effort and use it to refine the question further. You should
also give students reward just like giving them extra points or complimenting their good
work to increase their motivation to cooperate and participate in class.

II. Processing. Answer the following questions:

1. What kind of classroom management does the teacher practice? Why?

- The classroom management does the teacher practice should be an

authoritative classroom management style. Every teacher has rules for their class,
but teachers who stick to the rules they set are the most effective in managing
their classrooms. The key to making class rules is ensuring teachers are not
setting students up for failure by creating rules that are too rigid or impossible to
abide by consistently. Once students figure out that a teacher won’t enforce a set
rule, they will constantly push the boundaries and hinder a teacher’s ability to
manage the classroom. So, whatever guidelines are set, make sure they can be
lived with and enforced.

2. Do you think that the management style that the teacher is using in class
contributes to
the students’ learning? Why? Why not?

- Yes, the management style that the teacher is using in class contributes to
the students’ learning because if the management style are effective it helps the
students focus and grow wonderfully. If the classroom management is safe,
students feel comfortable and there are no distractions in gaining learning’s. Also,
if the classroom management is fair and enjoyable, boost motivation of the
students to participate and listen carefully in the class discussion and engage in
the activities given. But in the other hand, of the management style is poor, then
student performance will also be poor because they cannot focus and learn very
well due to the distractions bought by the poor classroom management style.

3. If your were the teacher, what management style would best maximize
students’
learning?

- In the future, if I would become a teacher, the management style I will use
in able to best maximize student’s learning is that engage with students. When a
student is inattentive, rowdy, or challenging, it distracts others. As you’re
teaching, try making friendly eye contact with the student. Encourage them to
focus on what is being taught by asking questions and using names. Remember
that sometimes disruption is just misguided energy that simply needs to be
invited into the conversation.

Reflection Questions for Module 2

After week 4 and 5 of classroom observation and completing the learning activity
sheets for Module 2, complete the following:

1. I realized that learning environment is very important because it is one of the

main factors that contribute to the learning of the students. Learning environment
is anything that surrounds the students and affects the learning outcome of the
students. A positive nurturing environment is an indispensable part of learning. It
is in a positive environment that a student feels comfortable, a place where
healthy relationships with peers and teachers flourish. In a positive environment,
the process of learning becomes something that students easily adapt to and look
forward to.

2. I believe that the most important aspect in a safe and positive learning
environment is the rapport between a teacher and his or her students. When the
students understand that their teacher cares about them and wants them to do
well, students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and taking risks
in order to learn something new. To build these kinds of relationships, the teacher
should take interest in each student's strengths and interests, as well as their
struggles and frustrations.

3. I feel that today’s learning in a school involves more than just being exposed to
information and set content. Students absorb all that they observe around them
and that they learn best when they feel comfortable enough to explore their
environment. In a positive and nurturing environment, students show their
authentic curious self and paint the world with their unique and individual brush
strokes.

4. When I become a teacher I will keep in mind that the classroom is a child’s
second home and therefore, I should make efforts to make my students feel as
comfortable as possible. I should strive to create an environment that is more
conducive to engagement and learning. Also, I will let students work as a team,
celebrate each others’ achievements and learn from their mistakes because it
enhances students’ ability to learn and to be productive in the rue sense of
learning things on their own.
