Computer Parts

Computers are for personal use and are currently widely used everywhere: schools, hospitals,
supermarkets, banks, etc.

There are different types of computers depending on the use we give them:

Computer Parts

The computer is made up of two parts: hardware and software.

OPERATING SYSTEM

The Operating System (OS) is responsible for managing and supervising the correct functioning of the
computer in its internal and external parts.

It is the first software that is installed on the Computer, without it the computer would not work.

The Windows 7 operating system is a version of the operating systems created by the Microsoft Corporation.

Description of each element of the desktop

The start button: contains all the accesses to the programs and accessories installed on the computer.

The Taskbar: Used to navigate between open windows and applications.

Icons: These are small graphics that represent applications, files, or other components of the
operating system.

Desktop background: It is a virtual work desktop, where the applications that we use the most are
placed.

Windows Explorer

It is a Windows accessory that allows us to organize and manage


information on the computer and its storage devices.

Steps to Open Windows Explorer:


1. Click on the start button
2. Click on all programs
3. Click on Accessories
4. Click on Windows Explorer

3. The folder will be created, give it a name and press enter

FILES

Change name
- Select the folder (single click)
- Press the F2 key
- Rename the folder and press Enter.

Eliminate
- Select the folder
- Press the DEL key
- A message will appear, choose the Yes option

Copy a folder or file


- Select the folder
- Press and hold the Ctrl key and press the C key
- release the keys

Paste a folder or file


- Find the location where to place the copy of the folder.
- Press the Ctrl + V keys
