used to represent or express an idea.

Nigeria, Algeria and Malaysia have the symbol on their National flags. The crescent moon and
star is used on Islamic buildings such as mosques to identify the religion.

example; it is used during Hindusweddings, festivals, ceremonies used on clothing and as
jewellery. It is also used to decorate food such as cakes and pastries

The nine pointed star is used for identification with the religion. For example; it is often put on
Bahai centers and temples.
