General Policies
• Hipps & Company’s Installation Department offers custom window fashions
installation of the highest standard. Hipps & Company Installation Professionals
are highly trained, professionally equipped with all the tools, fasteners and
expertise to install quality custom fashions in a timely and professional manner.
All soft fashion treatments will be dressed down and steamed when necessary
and possible. The homeowner, consumer or end-user will be educated on the
proper operation and care for the product upon completion of the installation.
• Hipps & Company, Inc. assumes responsibility for entire measure and installation
services, only when both measure and installation is performed and completed
by our service.
• Hipps & Company, Inc. is your most complete source for measuring and
installation services of custom window fashion. Products ordered for Hipps &
Company Installers can be shipped to our location for your convenience. It is our
general policy that we will only install products that have been previously
measured by Hipps & Company. However, in the event that product or hardware
used to install a particular custom window treatment must come from other
suppliers, Hipps & Company requests that hardware along with any additional
slides, brackets and other associated components must be delivered to our
offices or job site prior to installation. Hipps & Company carries a full line of both
Kirsch and Graber Hardware. Additional installation charges may be applied if the
product is incomplete.
• Measurement charges will be invoiced after the measurement is complete.
Products ordered by Hipps & Company will be invoiced at the time of shipment.
Installation charges will be invoiced after the installation is completed.
• The credit terms are stated on the invoice. Payment is required within terms.
Payments not received within terms will have a late charge of 1.5% per month.
Obstructions
• The work area (approximately 3 feet) immediately in front of the window must
be free from obstructions. In no instance will Hipps & Company, Inc. be
responsible for damage to any item moved (i.e. artwork, furniture, and/or
sculptures) or left in the path of proper access. If substantial items must be
moved, additional surcharges may apply.
Freight and Storage Policy for Installation
• All product ordered to be installed will be delivered to the job site and/or Hipps &
Company Installation Department prior to installation.
• Product Storage is a courtesy for a 30 day period, after the 31 st day additional
storage and handling charges may apply.
• Freight Delivery is accepted at Hipps & Company, Inc. and is anticipated for our
installation department to complete. Additional surcharges may apply for
transfer to other installer and/or companies.
Scheduling
• Installations will be scheduled when all products to be installed are ready.
• Since it is impossible to predict traffic conditions, weather conditions and
problems that might occur on the job, Hipps & Company schedules measuring
and installation in the following time frame.
First AM (08:00am – 10:00am)
Second AM (10:00am – 12:00pm)
First PM (12:00pm – 02:00pm)
Second PM (02:00pm – 04:00pm)

 • Installers may arrive at any time during the scheduled time frame.
Scheduling (Continued)
• Installations scheduled for the second PM time frame may be subject to an after
hours surcharge when the installation is estimated to go into the evening hours.
Installation scheduled after 5:00pm or on Saturday and Bank Holidays are
considered after hour’s installations and are subject to an after hours surcharge.
• Hipps & Company will return to the job site for adjustments at No Charge, up to
3-months (90 days) after installation completion.
Cancellations
• A scheduled measure or installation appointment may be cancelled no less than
48 hours without penalty. Cancellations within 48 hours prior to a scheduled
appointment may be billed a travel charge. If Hipps & Company is unable to
schedule another appointment in the vacated time slot additional charges may
apply.
Travel Charge
• A travel charge is applied to each measure or installation job. The travel charge
covers the estimated cost for the installer in a specific metropolitan area to get
to the job site. The actual measure or installation charges will be added to the
travel charge for the total cost of measure or installation.
• The travel charge plus one hour at $105.00 will be billed if the installer is unable
to gain entry at the job site. The same fee will be billed when the job site is not
ready for scheduled measure or installation.
Measure Charge
• Hipps & Company prefers to measure jobs that it will be installing. Measuring will
be charged $105.00 per (local) site for all standard rectangular windows. This
measuring charge covers up to 15 openings per site, additional openings at
$1.00 each. For multiple layers (treatments) in or on window openings, multiply
$5.00 per layer (treatment) times the number of treatments. The measuring
charge for specialty shaped window is $55.00 per template. Measurements more
than 10’ above the floor are subject to the High Window Surcharge.
• The Dealer is responsible for measuring charges, even if the order is not placed
filled and/or completed.
• A pickup or delivery drop-off surcharge of $35.00 per site trip will be added to
accommodate or facilitate installation services.
Installation Pricing
• Soft fashion installation is priced by style and includes the installation of all
provided hardware associated with that style. Installation pricing does not
include the cost of the product or the hardware.
• Blinds and shades are priced by type of product using the width tables found in
this Dealer Net Cost Price List.
• Standard shutter installations are priced by the panel using the price table found
in this Dealer Net Cost Price List. Specialty shutters will be priced from the
miscellaneous price section.
