Plus Two Practical - Physics

The document outlines the practical examination format for the SSCE Physics subject in 2025, detailing the evaluation scheme totaling 30 marks, which includes experiments, practical records, activities, and a viva. It specifies two sections of experiments focusing on electrical resistance and optics, along with various activities related to circuit assembly and component identification. General instructions emphasize the use of SI units, prohibition of calculators, and the necessity of using log tables if needed.

SSCE- PRACTICAL EXAMINATION- 2025

SUBJECT: PHYSICS (042) Max mark- 30

TIME:3 HRS
General Instructions
1. Two of the questions will be marked with X mark, one from section A and other from section B read
those questions carefully and attempt both.
2. SI units should be used.
3. Use of calculators is not allowed. However, you may use log tables if necessary.
EVALUATION SCHEME
Two experiments from each section 7+7
Practical record 5
One activity from any section 3
Investigatory project 3
Viva on experiments, activities and project 5
TOTAL 30 marks

SECTION A
1.Two determine the resistivity of two or three wires by plotting graph for potential difference versus
current.
2.Two find the resistance of a given wire/ standard resistor using metre bridge.
3.To verify the laws of combination (series) of resistances using a metre bridge.
4.To convert the given galvanometer ( of known resistance and figure of merit) into a voltmeter of desired
range and to verify the same.
SECTION B
1.To find the value of v for different values of u in case of a concave mirror and to find the focal length.
2.To find the focal length of a convex mirror, using convex lens.
3. To find the focal length of a convex lens by plotting graphs between u and v or between 1/u and 1/v.
4.To determine the angle of minimum deviation for a given prism by plotting a graph between angle of
incidence and angle of deviation.
ACTIVITIES
1.To assemble the components of a given electrical circuit
2.To identify a diode, an LED, a resistor and a capacitor from a mixed collection of such items.
3.To observe refraction and lateral deviation of a beam of light incident obliquely on a glass slab.
4.To draw the diagram of a given open circuit comprising at least a battery, resistor/rheostate, key,
ammeter, and voltmeter. Mark the components that are not connected in proper order and correct the
circuit and also the circuit diagram
5.To obtain a lens combination with the specified focal length by using two lenses from the given set of
lenses.
6.Use of multimeter to see the unidirectional flow of current in case of a diode and an LED and check
whether a given electronic component (e.g diode) is in working order.
