MS Word- Advance Features

Adding Hyperlinks
Hyperlink is used to jump quickly from
one file to another file, or to another part
of the large document with a single click.
• Select the text or picture that you want
to display as a hyperlink.
• Press Ctrl+K. You can also right-click the
text or picture and click Link on the
shortcut menu.
• In the Insert Hyperlink box, type or paste
your link in the Address box.
Adding Bookmarks
A bookmark is a named location
of the cursor which is used for
jumping to a particular location in
a document.
A bookmark in a word document
is similar to the paper bookmark
that you use to mark place in
novel.
Insert->Link tab -> Bookmark
Macro
In Word, you can automate frequently used tasks by creating and
running macros.
A macro is a series of commands and instructions that you group
together as a single command to accomplish a task automatically. To
save time on tasks you do often, bundle the steps into a macro.
A Macro is a set of commands that are Recorded and Played back.
A macro is used to automate a task that you perform repeatedly or on a
regular basis.
View->Macro->View Macro / Record Macro
Record a Macro
• With Word open, go to the View tab.
• Select the down arrow under
the Macros button.
• Select Record Macro… a new window will open.
• In the Macro name: field, enter a meaningful
name for the macro. Spaces are not allowed.
Use an underscore or dash.
• In the Store macro in: dropdown, you can
select what documents you want this macro to
be used
Record a Macro
• You can choose Assign macro to either a
button you’ll create with the Button or
hotkeys you can choose using
the Keyboard button.
• Here you’ll assign the macro a button.
• Click Assign and after that close.
• Perform the tasks that you want to
repeat
• Then again from view Ribbon-Macro-
Stop Recording Macro.
Perform a Macro
• By using Shortcut key assigned
• Or Click on View-> Macro->View A Macro
• Choose a Macro
• Click Run
