Instructions for the "Job Interview Activity"

Objective:
Simulate a professional job interview to enhance communication skills, build
confidence, and practice answering interview questions effectively.

Mechanics:
1. Pairing:

Students will work in pairs. Each pair will consist of one Interviewer and one
Applicant. After which they will change their position/role.

2. Preparation:
The Interviewer must prepare at least 5 unique questions relevant to the position
they are interviewing for.

Questions should focus on assessing skills, experience, and character. (Example


categories: technical expertise, problem-solving, teamwork, and leadership.)

The Applicant must prepare a resume or a brief summary of their qualifications


and experiences.

3. Duration:
Each interview session must last a minimum of 5 minutes. The interviewer must
manage time effectively to cover all questions.
A timer will be provided to ensure fairness.

4. No Repetition of Questions:
Each interviewer must ask unique questions. Repeated or similar questions from
previous interviews are not allowed.
Interviews are conducted one pair at a time.

5. Professional Attire:
Both the interviewer and applicant must wear appropriate business attire to
simulate a formal interview setting.

6. Evaluation Criteria:
The Interviewer will be assessed on their ability to ask meaningful, structured,
and professional questions.
The Applicant will be evaluated based on clarity, confidence, and relevance of
their responses.
Both participants will also be graded on their overall professionalism and time
management.

7. Feedback and Reflection:


After each interview, peers and the instructor will provide constructive feedback.
Students will write a short reflection (100–150 words) about their experience,
focusing on what they learned and areas for improvement.

8. Respect and Confidentiality:


All participants must respect their peers during and after the activity.
Personal information shared during the interview must remain confidential.

9. Active Participation:
All students are required to participate actively, both as interviewers and
applicants.
Students who are absent without a valid reason will receive zero for this activity.

10. Submission of Materials:


Submit your list of interview questions and a copy of your resume/qualifications
summary to the instructor before the activity starts.
