Greetings
Good morning, class!

How are you today? Good morning, Sir.

Checking of Attendance
Who are absent today? We are good, Sir.
Classroom Monitor, please list down the names of
the students who are absent today. Give it to me
after the class.

Setting of Standards Yes, Sir.

Class, before we start, pick up pieces of papers
and plastics. Arrange your chairs and sit properly.
This time I also want you to be acquainted with
our classroom rules.

1. Keep quiet unless you are asked to speak.

2. Do not do unnecessary things that might
distract the class.
3. Respect each other.
4. Actively participate in the class.

Am I understood, class?

Yes, Sir.
A. Review/Drill/ As we all know that this is our first discussion in
Motivation or our third quarter. So before we proceed to our
Presenting the New
Lesson first discussion, let’s have an activity.

Who would like an activity? Yes, Sir.

Are you excited class? Yes, we’re excited.

Now, we will start our new lesson with a game.
Directions: Locate the given words in the grid,
running in one of ten
possible directions horizontally, vertically, or
diagonally.

Congratulations, you found all the words in the

grid!

Now class, look at the words you have found.

Have you encountered these words? Which of the
words you encountered, you know how to define?

That is great definition.

Mathematical System of Geometry

Axiomatic Structure

Geometry is a branch of mathematics that

studies the sizes, shapes, positions,
angles and dimensions of things. Geometry as
defined by ancient Greek, geo- means
“earth”, -metron means “measurement”. Just
like algebra and other fields of
mathematics, it has a mathematical system. A
mathematical system is a structure formed by
undefined and defined objects and terms. In
other words, geometry, has its own set of
definitions, vocabularies, and properties.

Below is the axiomatic structure of a

mathematical system in geometry.

Generally, you will use an axiomatic system. The

system starts with an axiom
or postulate- the starting point from which other
statements are logically derived.
Postulates/axioms are statements that are
obviously true and is accepted by
everyone. An axiomatic system is any set of
axioms from which some or all axioms
can be used in conjunction to logically derive
theorems. It means that you will begin
with describing the undefined terms and their
related defined terms. Further, you will
explore the relationships and characteristics that
exist among them. The logical
consequence of postulates is called theorem.
Theorems are statements that need to
be proven using postulates or other theorems. A
corollary is a theorem that is a direct
consequence of another theorem. A lemma is
generally used to describe an auxiliary
fact that is used in the proof of a more significant
result.
