E LEARN COURSE PORTAL

Abstract

With the vast development of various technologies, learning today is no longer


confined to classrooms with lecture delivery as the only method of conveying
knowledge, rather, an electronic means of learning has continued to evolve. Electronic
learning (e-Learning), which facilitates education using communications networks,
has made learning possible from anywhere at anytime using the Internet, wide area
networks or local area networks. Notably, e-Learning applications which have now
become central to the learning process may be developed using proprietary
programming tools and the process of acquiring and using them to develop large
software application is not only complex but require a huge sum of money. A viable
alternative is to utilize the open source software platform that allows software
engineers and institutions the right to reuse, study, distribute and localize to satisfy
user’s requirements
The E learning system is developed to create a platform for learners to learn new
topics which can be used for their career development. The system helps the learners
to learn at anytime anywhere. They can go through the list of courses available and
can enroll to start learn at their own pace. On completion of learning or course they
will get a system generated certificate which can then be used for applying job and all.
The main objective of the system is to help learners, whether it be working or non-
working learners, to learn their topics or courses according to their time and
availability so that they don’t need to rush everything in their busy life and miss the
opportunity. The course completion is indicated when the learners complete the
chapters or modules provided and after successfully passing the online exam. There
will a fee for each course which they can pay online and enroll.
Module Description

Category: Admin records the details of type or category of courses.


Courses: This includes the details of courses under each category, its modules, fee
structure etc Admin records the details of courses available under each category
Registration: Learners need to register initially for applying the courses. It is a one
time registration and can login anytime
Course Application: Learners can apply for the course they wish to learn. Learner
can choose the course they wish to learn and can check the modules or topics covered
and can enrol for the course.
Payment: Learner can pay the fee online. They need to pay the fee before starting the
course.
Assessment Test: Faculty adds questions for the test and learners need to attend the
test before applying the certificate
Certification: Learners can apply for the certificate on completion of course and can
view the certificates they achieved so far
