Cloud computing is a model that allows organizations to access servers, storage, and applications over the internet, reducing the need for substantial investments in IT infrastructure. It offers advantages such as excellent accessibility, manageability, and mobility, but also has disadvantages like limited control, potential downtime, and dependency on network connectivity. As a result, cloud computing is becoming essential for businesses, whether public, private, or hybrid.

Cloud is a computing model where the internet allows servers, networks , storage,

resources for creation, and even applications. Instead of companies needing to make

substantial investments to purchase equipment, train personnel, and provide ongoing

maintenance, a cloud service provider manages any or all of these needs. It is an

evolving technology that is being moved from its on-site technologies to almost every

organization. Moreover, cloud computing has become an important element for

businesses to succeed, may it be public, private, or hybrid. This cloud computing

sounds promising, however, just like any other things, it has its own advantages and

disadvantages. The following are the advantages of cloud computing:

Excellent accessibility and availability: Storing data in the cloud enables us to

access it anytime and anywhere, irrespective of the machine, making it a highly open

and versatile technology of today.

Manageability: Cloud computing removes the requirement for updates and

maintenance of IT infrastructure because the service provider guarantees the timely,

assured and seamless delivery of our services.

Mobility: Cloud services may be easily accessed by workers engaged on the

premises or at far-flung areas. All they need is a link to the internet.

The following are the disadvantages of cloud computing:

Limited Control: Cloud clients can be faced with minimal control over their

deployments. Cloud services operate on remote servers owned and operated

exclusively by service providers, making it impossible for enterprises to have the

level of control they would like to have.

Downtime Issues: This is viewed as one of Cloud Computing 's greatest possible

downsides. Cloud providers may often face technological difficulties that may occur

for different reasons, i.e. power loss, poor internet connectivity, maintenance out of

control data centers, etc. These issues can result to a temporary unavailability of cloud

services.

Dependency to network connectivity: Cloud Computing is largely internet-

dependent. This direct link with the internet means that to enjoy the advantages of

cloud computing, a server needs to have secure, strong, and consistent internet access.

Otherwise, there might be troubles.
