Chapter 3 Research
METHODOLOGY
This chapter presents and discusses the suitable research design, locale of
the study, the respondents/ subject of the study, determining the sample
size and sampling techniques, research instrument, applying appropriate
data gathering procedures and finally the data analysis procedures. Several
factors like investigators’ capability, resources and time were also considered
in developing this chapter for the attainment of the objectives.
Research Design
This study was conducted at capiz state university dumarao satilite college
The respondents of the study were all the college students of capsu dumarao
Sample Size
The study adapts the formula used by Slovin in identifying the sample size

In the study, the college students of Capsu dumarao were determined as one
group and categorized into deferent departments and year level namely:
teacher education (TED), Doctor of veterinary medicine (DVM), Criminology
and the agriculture .
Sampling Technique
Research Instrument
A set of three-part survey questionnaire was used in obtaining the data. The
research instrument has been adopted and carefully developed by the
researchers. Part 1 contain the socio-demographic profile of the respondents.
Part II were questions measuring the level of engagement to the school
activities, and Part III consists of personality test questions adopted from the
International Personality Item Pool (IPIP) offers a concise measure of the five
major factors of personality called the Big Five.

Communication letter was the primary medium sent through to gather basic
information and first-hand data to the cooperating school where the chosen
respondents are. Data are collected through using a three-part questionnaire
to be filled up by the respondents while observing ethical considerations.
Finally, respondents are informed by the researchers to maintain
confidentiality out of the information they have shared.
