Problem Statement

In the classroom, the use of personal devices such as iPhones, smartphones,

tablets, and laptops has its merits and demerits. These devices may serve as tools

for learning; for instance, they can provide access to online resources, collaboration,

engagement, and interactivity. Similarly, they can cause distractions such as texting,

social media, and gaming that affect students' focus and motivation during learning.

This is very relevant at this particular time when technology rules the world of

education and their daily lives. The aim of this research is to explore the impact of

gadget usage in the classroom on student performance and behavior, as well as the

proper use of gadgets in the classroom so that distractions are avoided. This

indicates that there is a need for an appropriate balance of technology that would not

hinder the productivity of the classroom. This paper is aimed at assessing how

classroom gadget use affects students' learning outcomes and behavior as

technology increasingly becomes part of education and students' life. The objectives

are to look into how such gadgets in class can be effectively utilized to enhance

learning but not be a disruption.

to examine the dual role of cellphone in classroom, highlighting their potential


benefits for enhancing learning and communication, while also addressing the

challenges of distraction and use it for cheating.

approach, combining a qualitative surveys to gather data on students and teacher

perception of cellphones are use in the classroom, we also conducted to assess hoe

cellphones are used during class and their impact on engagement and learning

student.

Research Question
This study seeks to ensure the impact on student’s academic performance

while using cellphone during class, specifically this study conducted to answer the

following:

1.How does cellphone during class can affect student’s academic

performance?

2.How does cellphone can impact on student’s learning?

Focused Research Question: How does the implementation of strict cellphone

policies in classroom affect the student’s academic performance?

Scope and Delimitation

Senior highschool students (grade11) retained less knowledge when allowed

to use or possess a cell phone during lectures. Phones can be a significant

distraction, affecting academic performance and social interactions. Excessive

phone use can lead to addiction, negatively relationships. Using phones during

exams or quizzes can compromise academic integrity.

The study in conducted at Marhaba, School of Davao in grade 11 section

Taiwan. It will focuses more on the happenings inside the room, excluding the

remaining sections. Only the section Taiwan has meet the criteria of the given topic,

so overall attendance rates will not be examine, Data will be given at the exact time

limit.
Significance of the Study

1.Students-Students can benefits of this research topic, to help them to focus

more on school without any informal distractions.

2.Teacher-With this study teacher can also avoid distraction themselves to

prevent kids for copying them and to teach children continuously.

3.Parent- Parents can feel reassured knowing their children can have a lot of

knowledge and there is no any distractions of their kid’s studies

4.School Administration-The administration will gain insights to improve the

students learning, it can help the school by knowing about the cellphone policies.

5.Future Researcher- This study will guide and help the future researchers to

keep the insights and details of how can cellphone affect student. It will serve as the

basic format of the future researcher, that will going to study the topic.
