CE Lab 3 - Servo Trainer

The lab report details an experiment with an AC servo motor trainer, focusing on controlling the motor's RPM through varying voltage levels. The procedure includes setting up the circuit, using control software, and recording RPM data for both increasing and decreasing voltage. Safety precautions are emphasized to ensure a safe working environment during the experiment.

Experiment # 1: A.C. Servo Motor Trainer
Objectives:
• Getting familiar with the workings of AC servo motor.
• To control the RPM of Motor
• Software interface with Controlling Panel

Circuit Diagram:

Apparatus:
• AC Servo control trainer
• Multimeter
• Jumper Wires
• Control software

Procedure:
1. Connect jumper wires with ‘SRV-ON' setpoints.
2. Connect jumper wirers with ‘VS-SEL/ ZeroSPD’ setpoints.
3. Provide power by connecting the ‘SPR/TRQR/SPL’ setpoint with the ‘+10V’ supply.
4. Connect the multimeter with the ‘+10V’ and ‘GND’ setpoints.
5. Turn on the power and set up the Control Software Interface.
• Open the PANATERM motor controller software.
• Update the software with the adjusted settings.
• Goto ‘Parameter’ and select ‘Read from the file’ and press ‘OK’.
• Goto ‘G:/ > AC Servo Data > Parameters’ and select ‘Speed.prm5’.
• Then click ‘ok’.
6. Gradually increase the voltage (from 1V to 10V) and record the speed in rpm.
7. Similarly, decrease the voltage to 1V and record the speed of the motor.
8. Using the data, make graph of the increasing and decreasing voltage with the speed of motor.
