Subject English / Research Competency Shares research experiences and knowledge (Code: CS_RSIIIa-1) Duration 60 minutes Learning Objectives 1. Share research experiences effectively through structured discussion or presentation. 2. Reflect on the challenges, successes, and lessons learned during the research process. 3. Provide constructive feedback on peers' research experiences and suggestions for improvement. Materials Needed - TV and laptop - Sample research paper A. Introduction (10 mins) - Motivation: Show a short video or presentation of a researcher’s journey. - Engagement Questions: "What challenges do you think researchers face?" and "Why share experiences?" B. Lesson Proper (35 mins) 1. Guided Reflection (10 mins) - Have you conducted any research when you were in Junior High? - What is your research all about? - What challenges did you encounter, and how did you overcome them? - What was your most significant learning? 2. Group Discussion - Divide students into small groups (15 mins) - Each student shares their research journey. - Peers ask questions and provide feedback. 3. Class-wide Sharing - Select 2–3 volunteers to share with the class. (10 mins) - Facilitate open discussion on strategies and lessons from research experiences. C. Wrap-up/Reflection - Ask reflective questions: (10 mins) - “What did you learn from your classmates’ experiences?” - “How has this influenced your research approach?” - Summarize the value of reflection and sharing in improving research skills. Assignment Task: Write a one-page reflection summarizing: - Your research experiences - Three key lessons learned - One piece of advice for new researchers Assessment Criteria 1. Comprehension: Clarity and depth in sharing experiences. 2. Communication: Effectiveness in presenting ideas and engaging in discussions. 3. Reflection: Insightfulness in identifying lessons and strategies. 4. Participation: Contribution to group and class discussions.
