Abstract:
Choosing the right career is a very difficult task especially in a world which offers an array
of paths, all of which seem to be leading to a golden goal. Careers can actually make or
break ones life. So it is important to make a right choice. Career Guidance can help you in
pursuing the right courses, right colleges or institutes and can guide you in choosing a right
career.
Through this site we can reduce the pressure of choosing the next course. It collects the
mark details of the candidate and is followed by an aptitude test. The questions in the apti-
tude test will cover all the areas. After the test the system analyses from which area the can -
didate had attended more questions. By considering this and mark details, the system auto-
matically generates a result. The result will contain list of categories on the increasing order
of marks scored by the candidate in the test. Along with this, different courses in each of the
categories will also be displayed.
The colleges can add courses according to the category .They can view their profile and if
needed, can update the details.

INTRODUCTION

This project is a website for career guidance .It is targeted to simplify the complexity of
choosing a right course. It is a total online product that will provide guidance for selecting
an apt course. This project provides guidance on the basis of a test. The test includes
questions from various categories. For result generation the system checks from which
category the candidate had attended more questions. The result will be a list of categories
and the courses in each. The project also includes options for searching courses and for
college registration. Once a college is registered, it goes to the pending list, and they can
view their profile only after the admin approval. The colleges can also update their details.

The project is mainly divided into Five Modules

1. Admin Module.

4. Test Management Module.
5. Result Generation.

Admin Module

The admin module deals with the overall management of the site.
The admin can add new category and courses. They can also view various another features
like viewing courses that are available for the colleges etc.
The admin have the provision to approve a newly registered college or to remove an exist-
ing college. When the admin approves the college a mail will be automatically send to the
corresponding mail id.

College Registration & Updation Module

This module deals with the registration of colleges. The colleges can add courses according
to the category .They can view their profile and if needed, can update the details.
Searching Module

In this module, the students can search colleges according to the courses. This module pro-
vides the facility for viewing the details of the colleges. Feedback posting are also included
in this module.

Test Management Module

Test module is the core module in this software. The test includes questions from various
categories. The test is conducted in two steps. The first set of questions will be from all the

categories. The system finds out from which categories the candidate correctly answered
more questions. The next set is given on the basis of this.

Result Generation Module

This module deals with the generation of results. For result generation the system checks

from which category the candidate had attended more questions. The result will be a list of

categories and the courses in each.
