Final Project: ERP Simulation Using Excel

Objective

To simulate essential ERP functionalities in Excel, showcasing features that mirror real-world ERP systems like SAP,
and prepare supporting documentation and a video presentation.

Key Features to Include in Your Excel ERP Simulation

Your Excel file should simulate the following important ERP functionalities:

1. Transaction Management

o Record and categorize transactions (e.g., sales, purchases, expenses) with fields for Date,
Description, Amount, and Type.

2. Accounts Payable and Receivable

o Track pending payments from customers (accounts receivable) and amounts owed to suppliers
(accounts payable).

3. Inventory Management

o Monitor stock levels, calculate total inventory value, and set alerts for reordering stock.

4. Financial Reporting

o Automatically generate at least two reports:

▪ Income Statement (profit and loss)

▪ Cash Flow Statement

5. Dashboard

o Create a user-friendly dashboard summarizing key performance metrics like:

▪ Total Revenue and Expenses

▪ Net Profit

▪ Current Inventory Status


Deliverables

1. Excel File

o Your Excel file must include all the features listed above.

o Use formulas (e.g., IF, SUMIF, VLOOKUP) and Pivot Tables for automating calculations.

2. Documentation (PDF)

o Include:

1. Group number and names of members.

2. Description of the project and its purpose.

3. Explanation of how each feature works.

4. Descriptions of all formulas and calculations used.

5. Instructions for inputting values.

3. Video Presentation

o Each group will prepare a 5–10-minute video. All group members must appear in the video,
explaining and demonstrating:

1. Navigating through the sheets and showcasing features.

2. The Excel file and how values are inputted.

3. Excel Demonstration - Simulating real transactions and updating the system.

4. Key sections of the documentation.

Submission Instructions:

1. Submit the Excel file and documentation as separate files in a single folder.

2. Save the documentation as a PDF.

3. Upload the video presentation in the same folder.

4. Name the folder using the format:


Section_GroupNumber_Surname1_Surname2_Surname3_Surname4_FinalProject

5. Upload the folder to the designated Google Drive for your section.

6. Ensure that your documentation includes:

o Group number
o Full names of all group members

7. Send the Google Drive link in our MS Teams Chat box.

Deadline:

December 13, 2024, at 11:59 PM

Grading Criteria (200 points):

• Excel File (100 points):

o Correctness of computations (30 points)

o Use of formulas and automation (20 points)

o Formatting and presentation (20 points)

• Documentation (50 points):

o Clarity and structure (10 points)

o Explanation of formulas and logic (10 points)

o Use of visuals/screenshots (10 points)

• Video Presentation (50 points):

o Clear explanation of documentation (20 points)

o Demonstration of the Excel file (20 points)

o Active participation of all members. (10 points)
