ONLINE applications are invited for Admission to M. Tech Programme (Self-Finance) at IIITDM
Kurnool starting for the Academic Year: 2024-25

1. ABOUT THE INSTITUTE:

Indian Institute of Information Technology Design and Manufacturing (IIITDM) Kurnool is an

Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Education, Government of India. It is
established in 2015, and aimed to become a Centre of Excellence for pursuing Design and
Manufacturing oriented Engineering Education and Research domains.

Currently, the Institute is offering four (4) B. Tech. programmes in Computer Science and
Engineering (CSE), Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (AI&DS), Electronics and Communication
Engineering (ECE), and Mechanical Engineering (ME), three (3) B. Tech Dual Degree Programmes
in CSE, ECE & ME, and six (6) M. Tech. programmes in Departments of Computer Science and
Engineering (CSE), Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), and Mechanical Engineering
(ME). Ph.D. programmes, in Science and Engineering departments are being offered, in frontier
research areas under the guidance of experienced faculty.

2. PROGRAM OVERVIEW:
 No mandatory requirement of GATE
 Duration of the programme: Four semesters (2-year programme)
 No fellowship for self-financed category
 Admission based on thorough scrutiny process and successful completion of written test. (if any)

6. Eligibility:

First class with 60% aggregate or 6.5 CGPA in B. Tech/B.E. for GEN/OBC/EWS category and
minimum 55% aggregate marks or 6.0 CGPA in B. Tech/B.E. for candidates under SC/ST/PwD
category

8. Selection Procedure:

Stage 1: After receiving the applications, the duly constituted committee will scrutiny all the
applications and shortlist the candidates to appear for written test.

Stage 2: The Institute will conduct the written test to all the shortlisted candidates and the details
are as follows:

The written test (for 100 marks) comprises two parts:

1. Part A consists of Engineering Mathematics and Aptitude with a weightage of 50 marks.
2. Part B will have three papers to choose either from: CSE/ ECE /ME. Each paper will carry a
weightage of 50 marks.
3. The total duration of the exam (Part A & Part B) will be two hours. Detailed syllabus for the
Written test is provided in Annexure I.

Stage 3: After completion of examination, the duly constituted committee will shortlist candidates
based on merit for taking admission into M. Tech. (Self-Financed) Programme at IIITDM Kurnool.
9. Instructions to apply:
1. Application form is to be submitted online which is available at:

2. All the necessary documents are to be uploaded online. The proof of payment of registration fee
must accompany the application form.
3. Please note that the application fee is Rs. 500/- for GEN/EWS/OBC candidates and Rs. 250/- for
others (SC/ST/PwD).

4. Other payments like mobile payments (IMPS), NEFT, RTGS and direct transfer will not be
accepted. If paid by any chance, it will not be refunded. Do not use mobile applications to
make the payment.
5. The candidates who are employed and wish to do M. Tech on self-finance basis under full-
time must enclose NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE from the employer. (Annexure: II)

10. Important Documents:

Check list of documents to be uploaded along with the application:

 Copy of SSC/Class X certificate in support of Date of Birth.

 Copy of Intermediate/ (10+2) / Class XII certificate.
 Copies of Provisional Certificate / Degree Certificates and Marks Memos of the qualifying
examinations.
 No Objection Certificate from the employer, if employed (Annexure-II).
 Relieving certificate from the employer (at the time of admission) (if any).
 Photograph on application form.
 Copy of the Grade/Rank Card of GATE, if any.
 Fee payment receipt with transaction number.

Engineering Mathematics
Linear Algebra: Vector space, basis, linear dependence and independence, Linear Transformations,
Matrices, determinants, system of linear equations, eigenvalues and eigenvectors, rank, solution of
linear equations-existence and uniqueness.

Calculus: Limits, continuity and differentiability; Maxima and minima; Mean value theorem.
Integration; multiple integrals, line, surface and volume integrals.

Probability and Statistics: Random variables; Uniform, normal, exponential, poisson and binomial
distributions; Mean, median, mode and standard deviation; Conditional probability and Bayes
theorem.
General Aptitude
Basic English grammar: tenses, articles, adjectives, prepositions, conjunctions, verb-noun agreement,
and other parts of speech Basic vocabulary: words, idioms, and phrases in context Reading and
comprehension Narrative sequencing.

Data interpretation: data graphs (bar graphs, pie charts, and other graphs representing data), 2-and
3-dimensional plots, maps, and tables Numerical computation and estimation: ratios, percentages,
powers, exponents and logarithms, permutations and combinations, n series Mensuration and
geometry Elementary statistics and probability.

Logic: deduction and induction, Analogy, Numerical relations and reasoning

Communications, Wireless Communications.

ME
Engineering Mechanics, Strength of Materials.
Theory of Machines: Displacement, velocity analysis of plane mechanisms; dynamic analysis of
linkages.
Engineering Materials: Structure and properties of engineering materials. Basic machine tools; single
and multi-point cutting tools, tool geometry and materials. Limits, fits and tolerances.
