Introduction
This application note presents how to install Reason DR Manager software in three Operational Systems. The
Operational Systems used to this Application Note were Windows 7, 10, XP and Server.
Below are described instructions in order to install Reason DR Manager in Windows 7 and 10 Operational
System:
1. In some Windows 7 versions , it may necessary verify if the presented software requirements below
are installed in computer. If software requirements are not installed, the installation must be done.
✓ Microsoft .NET Framework 4 - dotNetFx40_Full_x86_x64;
✓ Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Client Profile - dotNetFx40_Client_x86_x64;
✓ Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 x64 - vcredist_x64;
✓ Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 x86 - vcredist_x86;
✓ Windows Installer 3.1 v2 - WindowsInstaller-KB893803-v2-x86.
2. Ensure that 5432 port is enabled on the network that Computer is connected (this information is
obtained with customer network administrators);
3. The Installer must be run from a user who has administrator privileges (is not possible to run Wizard
in a shared or remote drive);
4. Run Installer allways from C:/ directory. If Hard Drive is partitioned and the file is in another partition,
it is recommended always run it from C:/ for correct installation. Installation Files should be
uncompressed inside C:/ and not on a mapped drive or another shared drive (when it has another
hard drive).
5. In some cases it may be necessary to adjust the installer compatibility to Windows 7: “Run this
program in compatibility mode for: Windows 7”. After changing compatibility, the installation
window will open normally.

After running the application as an administrator, the Installation wizard will appear.
Note: To install DRManager 08A00 version is necessary first to uninstall RPV Manager 07A00 version. Click
on “3 – Uninstall RPV Manager “ as described in the following figure.

After uninstalling RPV Manager 07A00 is necessary to update “Database Data” as shown on figure below
before installing the software Reason DR Manager 08A00 version:
Then is possible to install Reason DR Manager. The next figures indicates that operation:

After installing software the icon shown in Figure 6-a) will appear on desktop. By double-clicking on the
icon Reason DR Manager software is opened as shown in Figure 6-b). (In the example below there were
already some installations and devices registered in software).

After Reason DR Manager has been correctly installed, a folder in partition C:/ will be created named “Reason
DR Manager” containing all installation files.
All downloaded records will be located at folder configured in “Configuration -> Polling -> COMTRADE
Directory and Select Directory”.
Software logs will be at “Reason DR Manager -> logs” folder.

Note: In case of a Drop in Database has not been done during uninstallation, when installing software again
all settings done in the last time using software will be maintained.
Please always check User Log in default Reason DR Manager installation folder (C:\Reason DR Manager\logs) to
verify Reason DR Manager in case of doubts related to software operation.
Note 1: Reason DR Manager only supports RPV311 with firmware version from 13A02. In case of RPV311
firmware version is below 13A02, Reason DR Manager will not support Conftool features.

Note 2: Reason DR Manager will export RPV311 configurations on any desired folder, but importation of
settings to RPV311 using DR Manager will only work if the files are located at DR Manager installation folder.
In this case in C:\Reason DR Manager\conf directory.
Below are described the instructions in order to install Reason DR Manager in Windows XP operational
system:
1. Firstly is necessary to check if there is not any previous software version installed in computer. If yes,
uninstall it as decribed in Section 1:
o In case of older software versions as Reason Product Manager 03AXX, it may be necessary to
uninstall software using Windows Control Panel -> Programs and Features -> Uninstall. To
others versions is possible to use wizard to uninstall software;
2. Run ReasonDRManager.InstallerWizard;
3. In case of Operational System has not found DLL “msvcr100.dll”, copy this file to folder
“C:\WINDOWS\system32”;
4. Run again ReasonDRManager.InstallerWizard;
5. In case of service (Database) has not been initialized automatically, go to Control Panel ->
Administrative Tools -> Services -> find service postgresql-9.3 -> (right button) properties -> Log on
Tab -> Select option “Local System account” as shown in Figure 8;
o Run again ReasonDRManager.InstallerWizard:
▪ Initialize postgresql service;
▪ Install Database;
▪ Install Reason DR Manager.
6. If is not possible to run installation due some problem in “Windows Installer”, please access the link
below and re-install software (select language in Windows).

Below are described the instructions in order to install Reason DR Manager in Windows Server operational
system:
1. Firstly is necessary to check if there is not any previous software version installed in computer. If yes,
uninstall it as decribed in Section 1:
o In case of older software versions as Reason Product Manager 03AXX, it may be necessary to
uninstall software using Windows Control Panel -> Programs and Features -> Uninstall. To
others versions is possible to use wizard to uninstall software;
2. Make sure Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x86) is installed:

5. Try to “1 - Install database” or “Start Service”. If you succeed, run “2 – Create database data” (in
the Figure 12 is showing “2 – Load Database data”) and go to the step 8. If you are not able to
perform the database installation or start service, close the DR Manager Installer and go to the next
step.
6. Copy the both folders “pgsql” and “pgsql_data” from another PC (or another folder) and paste
them in Local Disk (C:):

8. The database for the DR Manager is created, and you will be able to continue the DR Manager
installation by clicking in “3 – Install Reason DR Manager”.
