ASSIGNMENT 5: Creating your MVP

IT-2201 | Narqyz Nurlan, Assimov Ilyazhan, Assimov Ilkham.

Step 5 : User Path Map for AI-powered Fitness and

Wellness App
In our AI-powered fitness and wellness app, the consumer journey touches five major stages:
awareness, consideration, purchase, engagement, and loyalty.

Awareness Stage: Through social media advertising and word-of-mouth, users become
informed about the application. They would want to know how it benefits them; most often,
their knowledge in that regard remains vague. We convey focused messages in order to
define its distinguished features.

The people enter the Consideration Stage, visiting our website or app store pages to assess the
app by reading testimonials and comparing it with competitors. At this point, they cannot
identify the value of our app. We display customer reviews and emphasize AI-driven
personalization that can make a difference to our app.

At the Purchase Stage, buyers are downloading their application and choosing a certain
subscription type. Customers want to start with the usage, but confusing pricing is a
significant pain point. We explain our freemium model and offer trials for premium features
that can motivate people to download.

During the Engagement Stage, users log activities and track workouts-to stay motivated-but
may grow bored. We keep them engaged by introducing fresh challenges and motivational
content.

In the final Loyalty Stage, they share achievements and refer friends. They are seeking
community but may find that options to do so are limited. We amplify loyalty by
implementing features of ease of sharing and giving rewards for referrals. Below is a user
path map that shows from awareness to loyalty, listing user actions, goals, and pain points,
with our solutions to address these at every stage.

Step 6: List of Functions with Priority Gradation

High Priority (Core Features)

1. AI-Personalized Workout Plans: Generate customized fitness routines based on

user goals, fitness level, and preferences.
2. Progress Tracking: Allow users to log workouts and track their progress over time.
3. Nutrition Logging: Enable users to log meals and track calorie intake.
4. Goal Setting: Let users set and monitor fitness and wellness goals.

Medium Priority (Enhanced User Experience)

1. AI Coaching: Provide real-time feedback and adjustments to workouts based on user
performance.
2. Local Food Database: Incorporate a comprehensive database of Kazakhstani foods
for accurate nutrition tracking.
3. Hydration Reminders: Send personalized reminders to maintain proper hydration
levels.
4. Community Features: Implement basic social features like friend adding and activity
sharing.

Lower Priority (Future Enhancements)

1. Virtual Coaching Sessions: Introduce AI-powered virtual coaching using natural

language processing.
2. Integration with Wearables: Allow syncing with popular fitness trackers and
smartwatches.
3. Gamification Elements: Add challenges, badges, and rewards to increase user
engagement.
4. Meditation and Mindfulness: Incorporate guided meditation and mindfulness
exercises.

This prioritization ensures we focus on developing core functionalities first, gradually

enhancing the app with more advanced features as we grow and gather user feedback.

Step 7: Determine the Scope of the MVP for AI-Driven Fitness and Wellness
App

The Minimum Viable Product (MVP) will focus on core features that provide essential value
to users while allowing for initial testing and feedback.

Core MVP Features:

1. User Profile Setup: Simple onboarding to input personal details and fitness goals.
2. AI-Personalized Fitness Plans: Tailored workout plans based on user objectives
(e.g., weight loss, muscle gain).
3. Meal Planning and Nutrition Tracking: Basic meal suggestions and calorie
tracking based on dietary preferences.
4. Progress Tracking: Functionality to log workouts and track metrics like calories
burned.
5. Push Notifications and Reminders: Alerts for workouts and hydration to enhance
user engagement.

Non-Essential Features for Future Development:

 AI Coaching and Motivation

 Integration with Wearables
 Community Features and Gamification
This MVP scope prioritizes essential functionalities that address user needs, enabling a quick
launch for early engagement and feedback, which will guide future enhancements.

Step 8: Choose the Most Appropriate MVP Management and Development

Method

The Agile development methodology is ideal for managing and developing the MVP of the
AI-Driven Fitness and Wellness App.

Key Aspects of Agile:

1. Iterative Development:
o The app will be built in small increments, allowing for continuous testing and
adjustments based on user feedback.

2. Cross-Functional Teams:
o Collaboration among developers, designers, and fitness experts ensures a well-
rounded product.

3. User-Centric Focus:
o Regular user testing will provide insights into usability and feature
preferences.

4. Continuous Integration:
o Frequent updates will keep users engaged and allow for quick improvements.

5. Scrum Framework:
o Utilizing Scrum will help manage sprints for setting goals and tracking
progress.

Justification:

Agile’s flexibility and focus on user feedback make it suitable for developing an MVP. This
approach allows the app to evolve based on real user needs, enhancing satisfaction and
engagement in the competitive fitness market.

Step 9: Use Alpha and Beta Testing

To ensure the AI-Driven Fitness and Wellness App meets user expectations, Alpha and Beta
testing phases will be implemented.

Alpha Testing:

1. Internal Testing:
o Conducted by the development team and select stakeholders to identify bugs
and usability issues.

2. Testing Environment:
o The app is tested in a controlled setting to simulate real-world usage.

3. Feedback Collection:
o Feedback is gathered through surveys and discussions for immediate
improvements.

Beta Testing:

1. External Testing:
o A group of external users tests the app in real-world scenarios.

2. Target Audience Selection:

o Beta testers will be drawn from the target audience to ensure relevant
feedback.

3. Feedback Mechanisms:
o Users provide feedback through in-app surveys and forums, highlighting
remaining issues.

4. Final Adjustments:
o Feedback will inform final tweaks before the official launch.

Justification:

Both testing phases are essential for validating the app’s functionality and usability, ensuring
a polished final product that meets user expectations and enhances satisfaction upon launch.
