MR Anant Session Circular
MR Anant Session Circular
“The infinite! No other question has ever moved so profoundly the spirit of man.”
- David Hilbert
We are very happy to announce that to celebrate the birthday of David Hilbert, the last
Mathematician to know all of Mathematics, a special mathematics talk is being hosted on January
23, 2025. The talk is aimed at inspiring young minds to view mathematics as more than just a
subject. This engaging session promises to spark curiosity and offer a fresh perspective on problem-
solving and mathematical thinking.
Resource Person:
The session will be conducted by Mr. Anant Mudgal, who has been one of the leading coaches of
the six-member Indian team to the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) as well as a famed
coach of Mathematical Olympiads globally, across many countries. He has himself represented
India at the IMO four times, winning a Silver Medal (2018), two Bronze Medals (2016 and 2017),
and an Hon’ble Mention (2015) for the country. He is also the youngest problem proposer from
India to the IMO, namely, problem six at IMO 2019, the hardest problem of the contest.
He was awarded the Ramanujan Research Studentship from Trinity College, University of
Cambridge to study Part III of the Mathematical Tripos, one of the hardest mathematics courses in
the world. This award is given once a year to one Indian mathematics undergraduate student by
the Trinity College to commemorate his/her connection with Ramanujan.
Why Attend This Talk?
Explore new perspectives on geometry that can inspire creativity and a deeper appreciation for
mathematical beauty.
Explore the History and Evolution of Geometry.
Explore how simple axioms lead to the development of complex geometric theorems and
concepts.
See how abstract reasoning applies to real-world problems and mathematical modelling.
Be inspired by the remarkable journey of Mr. Mudgal, a young mathematician who has
made significant contributions to the field.
We invite mathematics enthusiasts from classes VI to XII to attend this inspiring event and immerse
themselves in the fascinating world of mathematics. To register, kindly make a payment of ₹ 300/-
on the student portal by 6 PM, January 22, 2025.
Registration will be on a first come first serve basis, limited to not more than 200 seats.
