ABSTRACT

 The Automatic Speed Control Of Fan Based On

Temperature is based on temperature variations, aimed
at enhancing energy efficiency and user comfort.
 The system uses a temperature sensor ( such as
thermistor) and LM741(as comparator)to detect ambient
temperature and a potentiometer to alter the voltage
output and adjust the fan speed accordingly.
 As temperature increases, the fan speed automatically
increases to provide effective cooling and as the
temperature decreases, the fan speed reduces, thus saving
energy.

INTRODUCTION

An automatic speed control system for a fan based on temperature is

a smart, energy-efficient approach to managing airflow in response
to environmental conditions. This system adjusts the fan speed
automatically according to the temperature, ensuring that the fan
operates at optimal levels only when needed, which helps save
energy and maintain a comfortable environment.

Basic Working Principle

1. Temperature Sensing: A temperature sensor, such as an LM35 or

a thermistor, is used to measure the ambient temperature. The sensor

produces an output voltage that corresponds to the current

temperature level.

2. Microcontroller or Comparator Circuit: The sensor's output is sent

to a microcontroller (e.g., Arduino, PIC) or a simple comparator

circuit. In a microcontroller-based system, this signal is processed to

determine the temperature level and calculate the appropriate fan

speed. If a comparator circuit is used, it can adjust the fan speed

based on predefined thresholds.

3. Fan Speed Control: The microcontroller or circuit uses the

temperature data to adjust the fan speed. This is typically done

through a motor driver or MOSFET circuit to control the fan voltage

or use pulse-width modulation (PWM) to regulate power, effectively

changing the fan's speed.

4. Feedback Loop: The system continuously monitors the

temperature, adjusting the fan speed in real time as the temperature

changes. For example, as the temperature rises, the fan speed

increases to provide more cooling, and as it drops, the fan speed

decreases or stops to save energy.

NOISE REDUCTION
 Lower fan speeds at lower temperatures result in reduced noise, making
the system quieter when full cooling isn't needed.

ENERGY EFFICIENCY
 By keeping the fan off or at a lower speed when the temperature is low, the
system saves energy.

CONCLUSION:
 In conclusion, an automatic speed control system for a fan based on
temperature is an effective, energy-efficient, and responsive solution to
manage cooling requirements dynamically.
 This system optimizes fan speed according to real-time temperature
variations, ensuring that the fan operates only when needed and at
speeds that correspond to the temperature demands.
