Data Uploading Tools in SAP

1. LSMW – ECC and S4Hana - Transaction Data & Master Data - Create & Change
2. BDC – ECC and S4Hana - Transaction Data & Master Data - Create & Change
3. LTMC – S4Hana until 1909 Version only - SAP Standard upload files -Transaction & Master Data
4. Migrate Your Data– S4Hana from 2020 Version only-SAP Standard upload files– Transaction &
Master Data

1. LSMW –Legacy System Migration Workbench can be functioned in ECC and S4Hana. LSMW tool or
the MASS transaction allows for mass changes to master and transactional data in your target system.

2. BDC – Means Batch Data Communication. It is also known as batch input and it’s an ABAP program.
It can be functioned in ECC and S4Hana. Mostly this method is used to post bulk transaction, change
transactions and master data. We need to create a recording /use BAPI and prepare upload file.

3. LTMC – Legacy Transfer Migration Cockpit Can only be functioned in S4Hana until 1909 and Its a
part of NWBC application. It has predefined upload template, SAP Standard upload files and used to
create transaction data and master data. The disadvantages of LTMC is that you can only create new data
and not modify or overwrite existing data in SAP.

4. Migrate Your Data –This method is available from S4hana version 2020. It is as similar as LTMC.
The only change is the view of screen and MYD (Migrate Your Data) is the part of FIORI application. It
has predefined SAP Standard upload files. The disadvantages of the Migration Cockpit is that you can
only create new data and not modify or overwrite existing data in SAP.
