Change the font size and Type, Spell Check, Aligning and justification of
text

The ability to change previously entered words, phrases, and paragraphs is known
as text manipulation. The inclusion of line breaks, the direction of the text, the case
of the characters (CAPITAL letters or small letters), and changes to the characters
(letters and symbols) are all examples of manipulation.

Word processing is the term used to describe the process of creating, editing,
saving, and printing documents on a computer.

 Font: A font is a collection of symbols that are all of the same typefaces.
Along with the typeface, the font also has details like size, spacing, and
accent. Arial in italics, 12-point size, is an illustration of a font.
 Spelling / Grammar Checker: Most word processing systems have a feature
that verifies grammar and spelling. These utilities may run automatically and
notify you of problems as you type (as in Microsoft Word), or they may need
to be explicitly launched depending on the application being used. In any
case, you will normally have the choice of accepting or rejecting the utility's
suggested changes. If AutoCorrect is activated and the disputed item shows
in the AutoCorrect listing, this rule will not apply.
 Alignment: The arrangement of text within the document's margins is
referred to as alignment. Text paragraphs can be centred, left aligned (flush
against the left margin), or right aligned (flush against the right margin) when
they are horizontally oriented (each line within the paragraph centred
between the margins). The fourth alignment choice is "justified," and it is
available. A justified paragraph will have content that is aligned with the left
and right margins, is equally spaced across the page and appear as a block.

1.2 Bio Data: Prepare bio-data using a template

Template Meaning—
When you open a template, a copy of the document is made for you.

A business plan is an illustration of a typical Word document. Using a template with

a predetermined page layout, fonts, margins, and styles will save you time from
having to start building the structure of the business plan from scratch. Styles,
AutoText and AutoCorrect entries, macros, toolbars, special menu settings, and
shortcut keys can all be stored in templates. When you load a template, it becomes
a global template that is accessible for usage as you interact with documents
created using any other template. By introducing unique commands and specialised
features, add-ins are extra programmes that you can instal to expand the
functionality of Microsoft Office Word. A programme created and distributed by the
IT department of your firm that highlights corporate names in any documents you
open on your computer is an example of an add-in programme.

A template or add-in that you load only stays loaded for the current Word session.
The template or add-in is not immediately refreshed if you close and reopen Word.

Select File > Options > Add-Ins in Word 2010, 2013, or 2016.

To access Word Options > Add-ins in Word 2007, click the Microsoft Office Button
Office button picture.

Select Word Add-ins from the Manage list, then click Go.

On the Templates tab, click.

Select the checkbox next to the template or add-in that you want to load under
Global templates and add-ins.

If the desired template or add-in is not shown in the list, click Add, navigate to the
folder where it is located, click the desired template or add-in, and then click OK.

Prepare bio-data using a template.

Bio-data stands for biographical data, and a bio-data resume is typically used in
select countries to help arrange employment. You will learn the differences between
bio-data resumes, professional resumes and CVs as well as how to customise your
document to suit your professional and personal needs.

Footer and Headers- A header is a text that is placed at the top of a page, while a
footer is placed at the bottom, or foot, of a page. Typically, these areas are used for
inserting document information, such as the name of the document, the chapter
heading, page numbers, the creation date and the like.

Where are the header and footer?

1. Click Page Layout under View on the Layout tab.

2. Click Header & Footer under Page Setup on the Layout tab.

3. Select a header or footer from a list of pre-made ones by clicking on the

appropriate option in the Header or Footer pop-up menu.

Insert a Header or Footer

Go to Insert > Header or Footer.

Select the type of header you want to use.

Tip: Page numbers can be found in several built-in header and footer designs.

Text in the header or footer may be added or modified. See Edit your existing
headers and footers for additional information on the things you can do with
headers. Double-click on a previously constructed header or footer to edit it.

Click the header you want to remove, then select the box for Different First Page.
For example, delete the header from the title page.

To exit, choose Close Header and Footer or click Esc.

To delete, select Insert > Header (or Footer) > Remove Header (or Remove footer).

1.4 Tables and Manipulation: Creation, Insertion, Deletion (Columns and Rows).
Create a mark sheet.
Tables and Manipulation

Drawing a table, adjusting cell dimensions, aligning text within cells,

deleting or adding rows and columns, and adding borders and shading are
all examples of table manipulation.

The cells in a table are arranged in a grid with rows and columns. Whether you're
working with text or numerical data, tables can be utilised to arrange any kind of
content. You can rapidly create a blank table in Word or turn existing content into
one. Additionally, you can modify your table by using various designs and layouts.

Draw Table

Anywhere in the document, tables are simple to put. Long lists can be easily
organised in a table. All of the components of your document can be formatted into
rows and columns using tables. At the beginning, end, or middle of the table, rows
and columns can be added or deleted. Simply select the "Tables" icon from the
Insert menu to insert a table. Any size table can be created, and any number of
rows and columns can be added, depending on the situation. There are many icons
in the table formatting toolbar that can be used for various table-related tasks. To
choose a row or column, use the spin arrows in the columns and rows.
