1. Switch
o A device that connects multiple computers or devices in a network.
o Helps them communicate with each other by sending data to the right device.
o Used in local networks (like in homes or offices).

o Connects different networks together (e.g., your home network to the internet).
o Directs data to the correct destination outside your local network.
3. Modem
o Converts internet signals from your service provider into a format your router or
devices can use.
o Without it, you wouldn’t get internet at home.
4. Network Interface Card (NIC)/Network Adapter
o A hardware component in your device that allows it to connect to a network
(wired or wireless).
o Acts as the bridge between your computer and the network.
