DEPARTMENT- CSE
The project employs a robust tech stack that includes React.js and Next.js for the
frontend, Django and Express for the backend, PostgreSQL or MongoDB for
database management, Python and TensorFlow for AI/ML models, and AWS IoT
for real-time soil monitoring through IoT integration. This integration of
technology will allow farmers to make more efficient and sustainable agricultural
decisions, addressing the challenges of climate change and soil degradation.
OBJECTIVES
Offer a user-friendly mobile app built with React.js and Next.js for easy access
to planting schedules, pest control strategies, and market pricing insights.
Leverage IoT integration with platforms like AWS IoT for real-time
monitoring of soil conditions via connected sensors, ensuring accurate planting
schedules and resource optimization.
2. Soil Health Tracking: The platform will provide real-time data on soil
moisture, nutrients, and pH levels through sensors or tests to ensure optimal
crop growth.
5. Price Predictions: Farmers will receive market insights on crop pricing and
profitability to make informed decisions.
6. Efficient Resource Use: The system will suggest optimal usage of water
and fertilizers, aiming to reduce costs and environmental impact.
7. User-Friendly App: The platform will allow farmers to access all these
insights and resources via a mobile-friendly app.
Frontend:
Backend:
AI/ML:
IoT Integration:
o AWS IoT or similar platforms: IoT devices such as soil sensors will
collect real-time data on soil conditions (moisture, pH) to provide
actionable insights.
EXPECTED OUTCOMES:
1. Improved Crop Yields: By providing data-driven insights, real-time
monitoring, and actionable recommendations, farmers will optimize planting
schedules, irrigation, and pest control, leading to increased productivity and
higher crop yields.
2. Sustainable Farming Practices: The platform will promote sustainable
farming by reducing chemical use through optimized pest management and
crop rotation, maintaining soil health, and minimizing resource wastage.
3. Enhanced Decision-Making: Farmers will make more informed decisions
based on AI-driven predictions for weather, soil health, and market prices,
reducing reliance on intuition and outdated practices.
4. Resource Efficiency: Optimized use of water, fertilizers, and other resources
will lower costs for farmers and minimize environmental impact, addressing
the challenges of climate change.
5. Scalability & Accessibility: The platform’s mobile-friendly interface ensures
that both small-scale and large-scale farmers benefit equally from advanced
technology, improving farming outcomes across diverse regions.
CONTRIBUTION TO THE FIELD:
These results will help modernize traditional farming practices by integrating AI,
IoT, and data analytics. The platform addresses the key problems of low yields,
unsustainable practices, and inefficient resource use, contributing to improved food
security, environmental protection, and resilience against climate change in
agriculture.
