MMI 3GP (HN+)


Tutorial Fast US – EU Conversion

The MMI3GP units come in three variants, which we will use to convert to EU, it
looks like this:
A1 - HN+R_EU_AU210_K0900
A4, A5, Q5, Q7 - HN+R_EU_AU3G_K942_3
Q3, A6, A7, A8 – HN+R_EU_AU_P01001

To convert the unit we will need:


VCP - Vag Can Pro – (https://www.obd2.pl/)
SDcard (good quality)
Firmware (can be found at https://mibsolution.one/)

We start the VCP, we go to the 5F module, in the adaptations we need to turn on the
engineering mode.

5F- Elect. info. system → Adaptation → Channel 06 → Read → Enter new value: 1 →
Test → Save

The changes will be accepted after restarting the MMI system. For this purpose, we will use
a combination of three buttons to reset the unit, the unit will restart after releasing the
buttons.

Firmware Update

Format the SD card in the FAT32 system, upload the firmware to it, in the case of the
Audi A6 C7 it will be: HN+R_EU_AU_P01001.

Before starting the procedure of uploading new firmware to the unit, we must enter the
green menu to change several parameters:

Press and hold together SETUP + CAR

Mark options:

SWDL –> „Ignore region and variant”


SWDL – >„User defined”

Change parametrs in:

System > Internal – >„Rest of the World”

We leave the green menu, enter the red menu by holding down the combination of buttons:

CAR + BACK

After entering the red menu, click Update with the lower right button.

You have to remember if we have a BOSE sound system, we need to update through
the "user defined" option and uncheck BOSE system updates.

After updating the firmware, there will be no fonts - subtitles. You have to scroll all the way
to the bottom of knob press, then press the knob again.

After restarting the unit with VCP, upload the data container to the 5F module, download
a4_MMI3GP.zdc container using VCP Activator - File Manager.

Go to VCP, CAN Procedures -> Apps -> Loading data container, load the file
a4_MMI3GP.zdc, select the 5F module in the list of drivers, and in the list of files to be
loaded select: DATA_VisibleLanguages_EU - finally click load selected data.

Tuner FM

To set the radio frequency step, we set it to 0.1 MHz by changing the coding byte. We
will need VCP for this, we don't need to solder the eeprom. Go to module 56 – Radio ->
Sec.Access -> LOGIN: 12345 -> Change Diag. Session -> Engineer Mode -> Sec.Access ->
LOGIN: 20103 -> Coding -> 02xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx to 00xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.
Rewrite to table -> Code.

Fix DTC 1555 / B201A
Checking Software Version Management fault

I recommend the site: http://mib-helper.com/im-so-xory/ for fix error, we can also use
the can procedure with vcp.

European Navigation Maps

After updating the software, we check if we have activated the green menu, enter the
menu, we need to change a few parameters and format partitions for maps. Current maps
with the activator can be found on https://mibsolution.one/ (user: guest password: guest)
Nav → databaseupdate → delete database
Nav → databaseupdate → delete nav HDD partition
Nav → databaseupdate → Active HDD Nav DB → 3 - EU
SWDL → ignore region and variant

We leave the green menu, put the prepared card in fat32 format with current maps into the
slot, enter the red menu and update the maps.

is verified by me and tested on many cars, including A4, A6, Q5. I have never tested
