Let Us Study

Digital Painting is like a traditional painting that uses lots of colors. Your software

has several tools that provide all colors you need and make the coloring easier. The

Paint Windows for laptop and desktop had a wide array of tools and options you can

manipulate to create a digitalized masterpiece.

The following are the primary coloring tools you can use in coloring your painting;

Brush tool - this is use to apply color to your work similar to the way a

traditional paint brush is use. You can choose the kind of brush you want to use.

Burn tool - a tool use to darken an image. To use this tool, just drag over the image.

This is use to add dimension to your flat 2D. drawing.

Dodge tool - this tool is use to lightens an image. To use this, drag the icon over the

image you want to lighten. This tool also adds dimension to your flat 2D drawing. (see

above image)

Sponge tool - is a retouching tool use if you want to soften or remove color out of

the image. Use this tool by dragging over the section of the image to want to remove

or change.(see above image)

Gradient tool – this is use by dragging the pen to highlights a color and

make it fade from dark to light.

Paint Bucket tool – this tool fills or make the area one color. To use this, just click

and choose the color you like. (see above image)

Eraser tool – this tool is use to eliminate or erase unwanted lines or noticeable

marks. To use, click on the toolbar icon that look like an eraser. When doing this,

your cursor changes into an eraser and works like a common eraser

Hand tool – this tools move around an image within the object. You can use this

with the zoom tool when you want to adjust section of picture you want to look at.

The picture below with a hand drawing is the

hand tool.

Pen tool - makes the lines and shapes. To use it just click the icon.

Type tool – is used to place the text in a picture (see above image)

Digital painting is a work of art in which the artist applies his painting techniques

using the computer, tablet or smart phone, In doing digital painting, the artist uses

brushes that are digitally styled to represent the traditional style like acrylic, oils, pastel,

or charcoal pen. The different tools in the window paint is necessary to be able to have

a digital painting.
