Safety precautions
This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including chil-
dren) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or
lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given
supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a
person responsible for their safety.
Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play
with the appliance.
Do not reach inside the tub while the machine is working.
Wait until all motion stops.
BeIore washing, check all clothes Ior loose buttons and tears.
Check pockets Ior coins , pins or other small articles.
Close zips and Iasteners.
Wash small articles inside a pillow slip.
Do not wash clothes soaked in petrol, thinners, vegetable oil or any
other Ilammable liquids. Nor should any oI these liquids be added to
the wash water as they constitute a Iire hazard.
Only use the machine Ior washing Iabrics. Do not attempt to wash
plastic leather or Iibreglass. Sort and separate clothes by Iabric, col-
our and degree oI dirt.
Avoid spraying water on to the control panel and back oI the ma-
chine.
Do not use detergents which are not speciIically designed Ior top
loading automatic washing machines.
Always unplug the machine Irom the wall socket when it requires
cleaning or service. Only permit qualiIied persons to repair or install
parts in the washer.
Do not use water which is hotter than 65 degrees Celsius as this may
deIorm plastic parts oI the machine.

UNPACKING
Remove all packaging and dispose oI it in a responsible manner.
Open the wash-tub lid and remove all the accessories stored in the drum.
Do not attempt to operate the machine while any oI the packaging is still in place.
POSITIONING
The machine should be installed in a well ventilated place,
away Irom direct sunlight.
Hot and cold water taps should be located within 1 metre
oI the inlet valves.
Positioned the machine on a Ilat and stable uncarpeted
Iloor capable oI supporting the Iully loaded washer.
Adjustable levelling Ieet are located at the Iront oI the ma-
chine and may be turned in or out to achieve stability. An
unstable machine will vibrate and generate excessive
noise.
DRAIN HOSE
Connect the drain hose to the drain outlet at the rear oI the
machine and secure it with the hose clamp supplied.
Hook the outlet end oI the drain hose over the lip oI a sink
or outlet pipe.
BASE COVER
Slide in over the retainers at the base oI the unit so that it is
located Ilush with the Iront oI the unit.
SINK OR LAUNDRY TUB DRAIN
The top lip oI the sink must be at least 860mm (A) above
Iloor level and not higher than 1300mm.
PIPE DRAIN
The minimum inside diameter oI the pipe drain should be
30mm and the pipe should be able to drain 30 litres per
minute.
The top lip oI the pipe should be at least 860mm (B) above
Iloor level and not higher than 1300mm.

INLET HOSES
Connect the respective inlet hoses to the hot and cold water taps and to the machine`s inlet
Iittings. The hot water inlet is on the leIt and the cold water inlet on the right.
CONNECTING THE WATER INLET HOSES
Connect the inlet hoses to threaded hot and cold water taps and
to the machine`s inlet Iittings. Take care not to conIuse the hot
and cold water inlets. The hot water inlet is coloured pink and
the cold water inlet is coloured blue.
II only one water tap is available, connect the inlet hose to the
blue, cold water coupling.
Open the taps and check Ior leaks. Re-tighten couplings iI nec-
essary.
The washing machine is designed to operate on a 230 Volt, 50 Hz, 15 Amp, AC power
supply.
The machine should be connected to an earthed 3 pin wall socket.
II the power-cord should ever need replacing, use only a genuine cord available Irom
the nearest DeIy Service Centre.

Loading the machine
PREPARATION
Close all zippers, snaps and hooks to prevent them Irom snagging other articles.
Remove pins, and other hard items to prevent them Irom scratching the machine.
Empty all pockets and turn them inside out.
Turn down cuIIs and turn synthetic knits inside out.
Tie strings and sashes so they will not tangle.
Treat spots and stains beIore washing.
SORTING
Mix large and small items in each load.
Separate heavily soiled items Irom lightly soiled ones.
Separate dark colours Irom light colours.
Separate colourIast items Irom non-colourIast ones.
Separate robust Iabrics Irom delicate.
Separate whites Irom coloured Iabrics.
LOADING
LiIt and Iold the lid.
Arrange the articles to be washed loosely round the perimeter oI the tub.
Load evenly as an oII balance load may cause unnecessary vibrations.
Use a large load programme when washing permanent press garments. These items
need more space to move than heavy items such as jeans and towels.
Do not overload the machine as this will result in poor cleaning, increased creasing
and excessive lint Iormation.

Press this pad to commence operation. Pressing it a second time will cause the
machine to pause, during which time any settings may be altered. Pressing it
again will cause the machine to resume the wash cycle at the new settings.

ECONOMY PROGRAMME
This programme saves water and is ideal Ior washing lightly soiled clothes.
Programme selection
FUZZY LOGIC PROGRAMME
This machine has Fuzzy Logic sensors. These enable it to evaluate each load placed in
the drum and to select and modiIy a wash programme to suit the load.
Do not use the FUZZY programme Ior woollen or delicate garments.
BLANKET PROGRAMME
Use this programme Ior washing blankets, curtains and small rugs.

Time delayed start
The wash cycle completion time may be delayed by 2 to 48 hours. This Ieature is particu-
larly useIul when you are at work and only want the machine to Iinish washing just be-
Iore you arrive home.
To cancel the 'time Delayed Start press the power button. Wait Iive seconds beIore
pressing the power button once more to resume
EXAMPLE: To set a completion time 8 hours Irom the present, proceed as Iollows:

Add a measured amount oI detergent to the detergent drawer. Use only detergent spe-
ciIically recommended Ior top loading washers and Iollow the manuIacturer`s instruc-
tions.
II required, add a measure oI liquid chlorine bleach to the bleach inlet. Avoid spilling
bleach onto the clothes in the machine as undiluted bleach may damage them.
II desired add measured liquid Iabric soItener to the soItener inlet until it reaches the
load line. Avoid spilling undiluted soItener onto the clothes in the tub as it may damage
them.
The machine will automatically dispense detergent, bleach and soItener at the appro-
priate time during the wash cycle.

BEFORE ANY OF THE WASH OPTIONS ARE SELECTED YOU MUST FIRST:
Insert the power plug into an earthed wall socket and switch on.
Open the hot and cold water taps.
Load the washing into the machine.( see Loading)
Add detergent and iI necessary soItener and bleach.( See Adding detergents)

NOTE: DO NOT OPEN THE HOT WATER TAP W2ITHOUT OPENING THE
COLD WATER TAP ALSO.
IT IS ESSENTIAL TO OPEN THE COLD WATER TAP FOR ALL PROGRAMMES.

Starting the machine
STARTING THE MACHINE
Close the lid.
Press the POWER ON pad.
Select the desired wash cycle ( either Iully automatic FUZZY or any oI the pre-
programmed washes BLANKET, ECONOMY, WOOL, SOAK or any customised pro-
gramme).
Press the START / HOLD pad.
The machine will complete the selected programme.
Maintenance
To prevent dirty washing, resulting from a detergent build up between the inner and outer
drum. clean the interior with 250ml of chlorine bleach mixed with 500ml of detergent. Run the
washer through a complete HOT cycle and repeat the process if necessary.
Wipe up any detergent, bleach and other spills as they occur with a soIt damp cloth.
Periodically clean the cabinet with a damp warm soapy cloth, rinse and dry.
Do not put sharp metal objects in the washer.
Check all pockets Ior pins, paper clips coins, bolts, screws and such.
Do not lay these items on top oI the washer aIter emptying the pockets.
II the washer will not be used Ior an extended period it is advisable to remove the
electric plug Irom the wall socket and turn oII the water supply to the washer.
CLEANING THE WASH TUB LINT FILTERS ( Clean once a week)
Side mounted inside drum.
1 Gently lever the Iinger-hold uwards
and remove the Iilter.
2. Open the rear Ilap and remove any
lint and dirt under running water.
3. AIter cleaning, close the Ilap and
replace the Iilter.
Pull the Iilter Irame upwards. Turn the Iilter inside out and
remove any lint and dirt
under running water.

CLEANING THE WATER INLET FILTER
Periodically clean the water inlet Iilter.
Remove the power plug Irom the wall socket.
Turn oII the water taps.
Separate the inlet hose and remove the mesh Iilter.
Clean the Iilter with an old toothbrush and re-Iit.
CLEANING THE DRAIN FILTER
The drain Iilter is located behind a cover on the kick-panel at the Iront oI the machine.
Normal cleaning.
A filter prevents foreign objects from entering and damaging the drain pump.
The filter should be cleaned after every 5 wash cycles.
If blankets are washed, the filter must be cleaned after every wash.
First disconnect the machine Irom the power supply.
Using a suitable coin, open the Iilter cover.
Remove the small white plug Irom the small drain hose located behind the Iilter cover
and empty any residual drain water into a suitable receptacle placed on the Iloor be-
low the hose. When the drain water has discharged, replace the plug.
Unscrew and remove the Iilter. Some residual water may still leak out.
Remove any debris and clean the Iilter beIore replacing it.
Mop up any spillage and close the Iilter cover.
Emergency cleaning - Blocked filter.
If draining is not completed in a specified time limit,the fault code OE will be dis-
played and a buzzer will sound to indicate a problem.
First disconnect the machine Irom the power supply.
Remove the wash load and place it in a suitable basin or bath.
Remove as much water Irom the tub as possible using a plastic jug.
ThereaIter proceed to clean the Iilter as described above.

Trouble shooting
Most problems are easily solved if the cause is known
BEFORE CALLING A SERVICE TECHNICIAN PLEASE CHECK THE FOLLOWING:
PROBLEM
The machine will not operate at all.
There is a restricted or no water supply.
II the water Ilow has not stopped aIter 20
minutes the Iault code IE will be displayed
and a buzzer will sound to indicate a prob-
lem.
The machine will not drain.
II draining is not completed in a speciIied
time limit the Iault code OE will be dis-
played and a buzzer will sound to indicate
a problem.
The machine will not spin.
II the load is unbalanced the spin cycle
will be interrupted and the machine will
stop. The unbalanced condition may be
corrected by re-Iilling the tub, rinsing and
then draining. II the unbalanced condition
remains, the Iault code UE will be dis-
played and a buzzer will sound indicating
a problem.
Dirty washing.
This may be as a result oI a detergent build
up between the inner and outer drum.
CHECK
Is there a power Iailure?
Has the power pad been pressed?
Has the start / hold pad been pressed?
Is there water in the tub?
See iI the tap is open?
Are the water pipes Irozen?
Has the water supply been cut oII?
Is the inlet Iilter blocked?
Is the drain hose blocked or Irozen?
Is the drain hose kinked or deIormed?
Is the end oI the drain hose immersed in
water?
Is there excessive dirt in the drain Iilter?
Is the wash load located all to one side?
Has the machine been installed on an un-
even Iloor?
Is the lid open? The Iault code LE will be
displayed iI this is the case.
Clean the interior with 250ml oI chlorine
bleach mixed with 500ml oI detergent.
Run the washer through a complete HOT
cycle and repeat the process iI necessary.

1. Repair or replacement oI any part oI this appliance, Iound by the Company to be deIective, shall
be at the election oI the Company. The Company reserves the right to eIIect such service through
any oI its Service Divisions or Authorised Service Dealers. The cost oI such service shall be borne
by the Company in Iull, provided that the appliance is located no Iurther than 50km Irom a Com-
pany Service Centre or an Authorised Service Dealer. Where the appliance is located beyond the
50km radius, the purchaser shall be liable Ior the standard travelling charges, as determined by the

CARRY IN SERVICE Microwave ovens, Compact cookers and small appliances are repaired in our
service centres and are not collected Irom the customers home. Faulty units should be delivered to
the purchasing dealer or to the nearest Company Service Centre Ior warranty repairs.
2. Vitreous enamelware, Iuses and lamps are speciIically excluded Irom these warranties. It is an ex-
press condition oI these warranties that the purchaser takes due care and attention in the use and
maintenance oI the appliance. Abuse, misuse in conIlict with operating instructions, connection to
incorrect voltages and subjection to commercial use shall release the Company Irom its obligations.
3. This warranty shall become void and cease to operate iI the appliance is dismantled by, or any re-
pairs to the appliance are eIIected by any persons not duly authorised by the Company, or iI substi-
tute parts not approved by the Company are used in the appliance, or iI the serial number oI the ap-
pliance is removed.
4. The Company shall not be responsible Ior damages resulting Irom Iire, Ilood, civil disturbances or
any Act oI God. The Company shall not, in terms oI these warranties be responsible nor held liable
Ior any consequential loss or damage oI any kind caused by or due to the Iailure or malIunction oI
the appliance.
5. The Company shall not be responsible Ior transportation or other costs other than those incurred
within the provisions oI Point 1 oI this CertiIicate.
6. These warranties shall not apply to the appliance iI it is purchased or used beyond the borders oI
the Republic oI South AIrica, Namibia, Botswana, Swaziland and Lesotho.
7. Where service is requested under warranty and no Iault or deIect can be Iound
by the Company, all costs incurred will be Ior the purchaser's account.
8. This CertiIicate as well as your invoice will serve as prooI oI purchase. For the
purpose oI warranty, it will be essential to produce this CertiIicate and invoice.
Failure to do so, will render the purchaser liable Ior service costs.
