1. Tell me about yourself?

Good morning! I am Chriscel Jericka Gamutan and a fresh graduate of Bachelor of Science in
Accountancy at the University of San Carlos, Cebu City. The interest of how money works has always been a part
of me which opens a passion that drives me to the field of accountancy. As a student, I was an active member of
the student council’s association belonging to the finance committee. I lead fundraising events that enhanced my
skills in money handling. Aside from that, my internship at BDO trained me well and increased the level of
proficiency I had to the field. I improved and would seek to improve for another improvement.

2. Walk me through your resume.


I entered senior high school under the strand of Accountancy, Business and Management. At that moment, my
first step to the field of accountancy was taken. I spent my two years gathering knowledge of the basic steps of
accounting. For college, I was blessed to be given a slot by the University of San Carlos. I continued what I
started from senior high school but in a way deeper yet satisfying. Now, I am looking for a job that can give
justice to what I have started. I am currently applying as an assistant junior accountant to slowly give myself an
enhancement and, also, to provide purpose of the field that I desire.

3. Why do you want to work at this company?


It is because I believe in this company. I am interested in working with your company because I am aware enough
that you have the capability in allowing me to serve purpose for my chosen field. I am determined to extend my
purpose and this company is who I think has the best to offer.

4. Why do you want this job?


I want this job because it gives me life. Ever since I was in nursery, my dream did not settle for my achievements
in school but on who contributed happiness that implies my worth as a person that happiness can be found in this
industry.

5. Why should we hire you?


If you will give me an opportunity to work in your company, I can be an asset to make your company grow by
using my knowledge and skills which I learned from my school. I am honest, achievement-oriented, fast-learner,
and responsible type of an employee.

6. What can you bring to the company?


I believe that my college studies equipped me with the qualities which best fit to the job description I am applying
for. As flexible and competitive I am, I can exactly bring what the company wants me to perform. Aside from
that, I will bring a sense of unity and humbleness within the company.

7. What are your greatest strengths?


I am an achiever since elementary up to college. I always belong to the honor list. I am hardworking and a person
of dedication, determination, and perseverance.

8. What do you consider to be your weaknesses?


I am vulnerable through words and actions in which it can negatively impact my performance in work. But as a
grown woman, I am grateful to be vulnerable because being vulnerable means being capable in expressing the
purest emotion I could have and welcomes me to a wider perspective of how life really is. By being vulnerable, I
would stay true to myself and, also, to my co-employees in a workplace.

9. What is your greatest professional Achievement?


Nothing beats the joy of passing the board examination in a single take. It is an examination that would truly
address someone’s efforts in a justifiable way. From the two years in senior high school to four years in college
and months of reviewing, I have sense that after all, I am suitable for the course I chose.

10. Tell me about a challenge or conflict you’ve faced at work, and how you dealt with it?
Having my internship at the grounds of a well-known bank, it was full of challenges. At first, it was difficult for
me to cope and fit myself in the workplace. But I am a spirited woman. I become more competitive when
challenged. And aside from that, I am also a woman of good conduct. I handle challenges in God’s will and by
remembering my core for everything.
11. What do you like least about your job?
It’s meticulousness. Journalizing transactions to financial statements demand extreme presence of mind since it
would not go right if a single mistake is committed and can highly cause a negative impact to the company. But as
passionate as I am, I would fully be glad to dedicate attention while doing my job to have an efficient
performance and effectively contribute a help to the company as fulfilment to what I am tasked to.

12. What are you looking for a new position?


I have been honing my skills in accountancy. A position that can help me attain expertise to my field is an honor
that I would not hesitantly take. In addition, I am looking for a position that would not only give me a purpose but
also a position that can contribute to my growth as a person.

13. What type of work environment do you prefer?


It is a part of my dream to get excited every morning before going to work. I enjoy working in an environment
where the workers have a strong sense of camaraderie and a good work attitudes. This type of workplace gives me
motivation and would push the best in me to perform well.

14. What is your work style?


My formula in efficient working is to prepare myself first by arranging the tasks that I am assigned to including
my rest in an orderly manner. Being organized helped me functionally do the tasks slowly yet enough for the
given time to be accomplished.

15. How would your previous boss and coworkers describe you?
I always heard that I am hard-working and would continue persevere when challenged. It is because when I have
a task, I do not consider it done when I am not satisfied of its outcome. Thus, I take my job seriously because for
me it is part of showing my purpose.

16. How would you deal with pressure or stressful situations?


To deal with pressure and stress, I always give time to offer a talk to God because feeling His presence enlightens
my worth to continue. In continuation, I look for the positives in every situation rather than concentrating too
much on the things that does not help me.

17. How do you stay organized?


To be organized, I spare attention to keep track on time and get disciplined by my own schedule. In this manner, I
avoid having tasks piled up which can prevent from dominating stress to me and would enable me to work
peacefully.

18. What are you passionate about?


I am passionate on how money works. To satisfy that passion, I am into challenges in the field of accountancy to
test my skills and capability that would eventually improve my level of proficiency. When I am passionate, it
means that I am also passionate on exploring the extent of what I can still do and contribute in accounting. Having
an interest on the process on how money revolves does not only give me worth but also teaches me how to
expertly practically live life.

19. What motivates you?


Learning new things in order for me to grow always motivates me.
Working in the field that I am proficient at
The primary source of my motivation is my environment outside and inside my workplace. It always gives me
power to wake up in the morning and get excited to cross out all the tasks in my schedule. In addition, the burning
passion that I have in the field of accountancy keeps me moving.

20. Do you consider yourself successful?


Yes, I am considering myself successful. My definition of success is to attain purpose in the field that I am in,
which is the field of accountancy, and at the same time, attain priceless happiness and a sense of satisfaction.
Right now, by being here to conduct an interview after a long process that I started ever since senior high school,
my definition of success is already attained.
21. Where do you see yourself in five years?
I can see myself leading the accounting department in five years. I work to improve and not on how big my salary
would increase on the upcoming years. I believe that the largest asset I can have is the level of proficiency I am
attaining after every tasks that I accomplished.

22. How do you plan to achieve your career goals?


My plan was to seek challenges and slowly taking a risk to apply for a higher role. In this way, I would not stay
around my circle but rather busy on discovering and learning something new.

23. What are your career aspirations?


Now that I finished college, I would like to extend the knowledge that I learned and the skills that I got from
various experiences from school in a professional working environment such as this company.

24. What makes you unique from the rest of the applicants?
My experiences that mold me to where I am today makes me unique from the rest of the applicants. Specifically,
it refers on how I excellently handle stress and pressure. I get used in working with stress and pressure since the
school that I was in during high school up until college taught me how to show the best in me even under stress
and pressure. Therefore, I became the person who works well even in hardest times which is a very rare
characteristic of an employee.

25. What should I know that’s not on your resume?


I am active when it comes to financial management. Outside school and work, I have a role in the committee of
finance in our church. Aside from that, I handle business with my mother in which we sell bags and curtains that
enhances my skill in handling money. In addition, I was a member of the student’s council association during
college still having a role in finance committee.

26. What are your salary expectations?


Work compensation is essential in a job and it has to work effectively for the both of us. Given that the role of the
hiring manager and the extent that this company can offer is withing you, I would gladly appreciate to hear what
can you offer in this position.

27. If you were an animal, which one would you want to be?
If I were an animal, I prefer to be a dog because dogs can learn fast. They are open to be coached. They will never
betray their boss.

:That was pretty recent! May I ask why did you use your pen for?

:Purposeful! Does this pen happens to upset you at any circumstances sir?

29. Is there anything else you’d like us to know?
I would like to convey that I have my desire that keeps on burning to explore accountancy. I was more than happy
to graduate and conduct an interview under this industry. I am efficient in this job making me suitable for the
position as a junior accountant.

30. Do you have any questions for us?


If I were hired for this role sir, what are your expectations that I would accomplish for my first and second
month?
