Activity 6: Your Personal Insights
Know thyself is a very old maxim inscribed in the temple of Apollo at Delphi. It dates back as far
as ancient Greece. Yet, the advice remains alive and worth doing until now. In Greek, it is
gnouthi seauton. In Latin, it is temet nosce. After learning significant things about yourself,
reflect on your discoveries. Under the title “Who Am I?”, write something about yourself.

Activity 4: Reflection through Art and Music


MAKE YOUR OWN MANDALA

Sample Mandalas.

A mandala is a name of Sanskrit origin, which means “circle! It is a concentric design


that depicts harmony and unity among its visual elements. Mandala patterns vary and are
significant in many religious traditions. It is often used in religious practices and in meditation. It
is also seen in some forms of architecture that illustrate intricate designs, often brought by
spiritual inspiration. It is not simply taken as a mere shape. It symbolizes wholeness and
organization of self within. According to Carl Jung, creating a mandala has a profound meaning
in achieving personal growth. Give it a try! Create your own personal mandala that will
symbolize your wholeness, help you find order, and inspire you to seek balanced living. Allow
yourself to be guided by some music.
Activity 5: Your Personal Insights
Write a short life script or your model of a balanced life. Design your own holistic development
plan for your personal and career growth that takes into account all the aspect of self.

When developing life goals, it helps to set a timeline. It may be short terms, intermediate, or
long-term. Throop and Castellucci cited a timetable like this.

To score, count the number of checks and write the number in the box. The box with
the highest score points to your relative communication style.
What does each letter mean? Throop and Castellucci describe the different styles in
their book “Reaching Your Potential” as follows:
Achievers: self-controlled, guarded in revealing themselves, assertive, and express their
expectations clearly
Relaters: warm and friendly when dealing with others, more interested with others
rather than being concerned about themselves, less self-controlled, and ask questions
that are usually personal in nature
Thinkers: guarded in interacting with others, don’t reveal much of themselves, exercise
self-control, and direct attention to others by asking questions
Sellers: warm and outgoing in dealing with others, assertive and forceful in expressing
themselves

Activity 4: Project Making


According to your career interest. Think about the tasks you need to do now to be
competent and effective in your future field. Identify one important task and how you are going
to do it. Make 2 campaign material (poster, leaflet, etc.) that speaks of one specific task and
responsibility that students in your level should do.
