The story of the Task: Website development

You work as a web developer at a company that creates

websites. Berimbolo Security, a company that sells and
installs security systems, has seen an increase in
demand for its services. The owners want to improve
how they use technology and have decided to build a
new website to promote their business.

Berimbolo Security provides services like security risk assessments, the

sale and installation of alarm systems and CCTV cameras, and 24/7
monitoring.
The company wants its new website to tell customers about their
services and products, help customers contact them, and work well on
both mobile and desktop devices.

To help Berimbolo Security get the best website, the company has asked
you to research how other websites in similar businesses work.
You need to look at two websites and see how their designs and features
help meet the needs of both the company and their customers.

Instructions for Task 4 what you need to do

Develop the website for the client, ensuring quality and functionality
throughout the process:

➢ Step 1: Create the Site Using Suitable Tools and Content

• Utilize appropriate development tools (e.g., IDEs, frameworks, CMS) to

build the website.
• Ensure that all content, including text, images, and multimedia elements,
aligns with client requirements and enhances user experience.
➢ Step 2: Test the Site Thoroughly
• Use appropriate test plans, schedules, and data to validate the website’s
performance in the following areas:
• Functionality Testing:
o Verify that all links, forms, buttons, and features work as
intended.
o Test user interactions, including navigation, login processes, and
form submissions.
• Compatibility Testing:
o Test the website on different devices (desktop, tablet, and mobile)
to ensure responsiveness.
o Check compatibility across various browsers (e.g., Chrome,
Safari, Edge, Firefox).
• Usability Testing:
o Conduct user testing to evaluate the website's ease of use,
accessibility, and overall user experience.
o Gather feedback from potential users to identify pain points or
areas for improvement.

➢ Step 3: Seek Feedback to Improve the Website

• Show your website to stakeholders, users, or peers.

• Collect detailed feedback on the website's appearance, performance,
and usability.
• Analyze the feedback to identify areas of the site that need
improvement.

➢ Step 4: Develop and Improve the Website Based on Feedback

• Address the feedback received by:
o Making necessary design and functional adjustments.
o Implementing enhancements to improve user experience and site
performance.
o Documenting the changes made.
• If specific feedback is not addressed, provide a justification for those
decisions.

o If necessary, test new alternatives and include them in the

updated designs.

➢ Step 5: Document Testing and Feedback Results

• Collect and document results from testing activities and feedback sessions:
o Highlight any problems or errors identified.
o Include ‘before’ and ‘after’ versions of the website to showcase
notable changes made during development.

➢ Step 6: Optimize the Website

• Explain how the website was optimized based on testing and user feedback:
o Improvements in performance (e.g., faster load times, reduced errors).
o Enhancements in design (e.g., better layouts or color schemes).
o Increased usability (e.g., improved navigation or accessibility
features).

• You can include this explanation in annotations on the

designs or as a written piece of evidence.
