Introduction
In this assignment, I have been tasked by the owners of Monkey Claw Recording Studio to
help them promote their business using social media, so my task is to produce a plan,
optimise it and then implement the plan. This plan will include the post schedule and
content of posts as well as information about why I have made the chosen things or didn’t in
some cases.

Requirements
The client requirements are simple: to make social media accounts to promote their
business and encourage more females to use the business as their main audience now is
predominantly male. Another requirement is that the clients want to use social media to
build a community that will be a safe place for everyone to share ideas and their work with
others with the same passion.

Content
This section includes research about things related to which content we will be putting on
social media such as the target audience, publishing schedule, keywords, and a little bit
about the legal and ethical side of social media.

Target Audience
The business is interested in the target audience of anyone with a passion for music,
whether they are just starting or older with years of experience. Their target audience isn’t
any gender but with a slight appeal to females to encourage more women to use the
business. As a business targeting the audience for income will play some role as they would
like to promote the use of their equipment which means the audience would need less to
afford it.

Publishing Schedule
The plan for publishing content will be every week with at least two posts a week on
Monday and Friday. On Monday the post will be about the business such as events or sales I
choose this day as it’s the beginning of a work week for most people. The Post on Friday will
be a question or a joke as I believe it's something light for people starting their weekend.
Lastly, if we need to promote more things in the week then Wednesday will be a needed
post day as it’s the middle of the work week.

Key Words
These are the words that people are more likely to search for so using these to help users
find the business post is very helpful. While researching this topic I found an article about
keywords that should be specific, descriptive, and low competition. (How to Use Keywords
and Hashtags in Social Media (linkedin.com)) so in this case a good keyword is Audio as it's
specific to Monkey Claw Recording Studio. It describes what the company does with singing
and instruments and isn’t as competitive as Music for a keyword.

Legal and Ethical
When advertising a business on social media there are legal and ethical rules to consider
such as anything being posted on a business's social media should be their work, sponsored
or paid for as taking credit for someone else work is against copyright laws. Everything the
business posts should follow advertisement rules and regulations to protect the business
from legal problems. Ethical issues to consider when a business using social media is using
tactics such as fake reviews or inflating follow counts which would help the business look
popular, but this tactic is ethically bad and will negatively affect the company’s image if
found out.

The timescale for the whole plan


The timescale for the whole plan is split into two parts with the making of the plan as part
one which has weeks to create, then there will be a trial period which Hot Beans will
oversee and if it's working to promote the business on social media sites then our work is
done. However, if the plan isn’t working, we will go back to making changes and
adjustments.

This is the Gnant chart that I made to show the timescale for the creation of the plan which
can show what jobs will be done when and how long I think each job will take to complete.

Platforms
The Monkey Claw Recording Studio doesn’t have a specific age or income target audience
and only a slight target to get more females to use their business. The platforms that have a
higher female presence are TikTok and Snapchat.
With both letting you upload short videos and music which is good for a recording studio to
promote on I would choose TikTok as it has more overall users than Snapchat which is also
why I believe other platforms that should be used are YouTube and Facebook as these have
the most numbers of monthly active users according to my research. (Biggest social media

Research
In this section, I will research what posts get a response from the public and I will do this by
looking through some of Monkey Claw Recording Studios' preview posts from their
Facebook account and analysing which posts got more interaction and why.

This post got some interaction and I believe this is because it is asking a question which
encourages users to interact with it. Another reason people interact is that including an
image immediately grabs people's attention.
The reason this post has more male interaction could be because the image of the chimp
might be more appealing to males but it might be because more males use Facebook than
females so the number would be a little higher which it is.
However, there would have been more interaction if it was a poll rather than just a question
as users are more likely to answer as it is easier to pick an option from a list rather than
writing the answer themselves.

There is not much to say about this post which is the problem with it there is nothing there
to catch users' attention which shows in how little interaction it got.
Just including an image with it will improve it as it is something that users will notice when
scrolling through their feeds.

their feed, they won't even notice it.
That’s why I think they should have included a picture of the new gear they're talking about

This post shows how my option from the two posts works as this one is telling the
information, but they included an image as proof it has more interaction than the previous
two posts.
However, the image isn’t the only thing add the post using links to the artist accounts that
they are talking about which is good as more people will see it because the post will also
appear on the artist feeds as well.
I think this post has more female interaction than male because the artists that are
mentioned have more female fans than male fans.

This has much interaction as it is the perfect content to post for this audience as the
company is a recording studio so seeing a band's live studio performance is exactly the type
of post that people following or looking up the company are looking for.
The only change I would make for this post is a better thumbnail for the video as it’s a bit
dark and most of the band is looking down. As this video is posted on YouTube and shared
on Facebook you can choose the thumbnail image or even upload your own which is a
feature that YouTube has.
A reason more views are male than female could be that the band doing the live studio
performance fanbase might be predominantly male or it is just that more males than
females are active on Facebook.

This video has much interaction which is most likely because it includes a video which
means the post will catch attention. Another reason is that it includes a big name which is
Billie Eilish even though it’s not the singer herself anyone who knows the singer would know
who her brother is who is the person doing the interview.
I believe this video has more female views than male because Billie Eilish's fanbase has a
higher percentage of women than men. However, another reason might be Finneas himself
as he is a good-looking guy which might be why more females watch it than males.
The only thing I would change in this post is adding links to Finneas at less if not Billie Eilish
as well as that would give this post more reach across Facebook with it appearing in their
feeds too.

This plan covers 5 days a week, leaving the weekend free, which is good as I believe the
company should hire someone qualified with experience to do this job permanently. They
will need to frequently check all the social media platforms to make sure nothing personal
or offensive gets posted. They will need to reply to comments and questions from the users
or inform them where they can find the answers they need.
To get the result from using this plan we will be looking at how many comments and if they
are positive or negative. We will also take in the number of likes and shares to see if this
plan for posts is effective.

Improvements
Going through the feedback that I have received about the plan I have decided to
implement the weekend into my plan as they had a point about more people being on social
media during the weekend. This is the revised content plan.

This is the new content plan including Saturday and Sunday which show the days off as well
which is Tuesday and Thursday. Adding Sunday means that instead of posting what’s
happening this week on Monday it will be on Sunday so more people will see it before the
start of the week. With this new addition, it would be best to start implementing this plan
on a Sunday as that is when it tells people what's happening that week.
With adding Saturday and Sunday I have taken away Tuesday and Thursday to be the days
off instead as they are mid-work week, in my opinion, people are less likely to be on social
media but I keep Wednesday as a good day in the middle of the work week if there is any
more news or activity.

Justify Plan
Some of the feedback I received I have decided not to implement so here I’m going to
explain why. The first is about adding a cost section to the plan which I believe isn’t
necessary as everything on the plan can be done on the social media accounts for free I did
mention hiring someone to run the social accounts for the business. Still, that cost is
between the company and the person so I don’t need to know anything about it.
They will need to go into cost for advertising the company and their social media accounts
which doesn’t factor into my plan as my plan is mainly for the content and platforms for the
post rather than the money to advertise or hire someone to implement the plan.
Another feedback was about using more platforms but I think as we are trying to gain an
audience trying to keep track of too many different social media platforms could be too big
an undertaking at first.
This is why the plan only includes the three which are Facebook, YouTube and TikTok as all
three are mainly known for clips which is a good platform for a recording studio to be on.
Additionally, Facebook and YouTube are the top two platforms for active users so starting
on them first will reach the most people.
Choosing TikTok because the company is required to try and encourage more female users
and this is one of the only social media platforms with more female users than male. ( Social

This is an example of what the Facebook account mage will look like more specifically the
about page. Which includes a way to contact the studio to book sessions and find out more
information. There is a little bit of information about the company which is kept brief and
simple. The line come straight from the client’s social media brief that I was sent at the start
of this project.

Optimisation
Taking the feedback, I received into account I have decided that using a picture of Taylor in
the studio is better than the other picture as it shows users what the studio looks like and
shows the stars in this case Taylor using the equipment and having fun in Monkey Claw
Recording Studios.
Before After

The above shows the post before and after I changed it and I feel like the after is better as it
shows the studio for users and shows Taylor trucking poss so the user can see that she is
using Monkey Claw Recording Studio.
I asked a few of my colleagues which out of the two posts they prefer and the majority
agreed that the one of her in the studio is best as it shows who uses the studio and clips of
the studio itself.

Another feedback was to make the poll posted on Friday related to Taylor Swift as all the
other posts this week are which I thought is an amazing idea as it sticks to the theme and
makes sense as she is in the studio all week so I have changed the poll to ask her fans which
era is their favourite Instead of what musical genre are the users favourite.

This poll fits better with everything else that was posted this week and you can even go
more in-depth by after getting so many votes you can doing another poll asking if they voted
to Speak Now (2010) / Red (2012) which one do they like better and split them up in the
options. This could be an idea that can be used all week while Taylor is in the studio to see
who the overall favourite album is.

Justify Content
One person who gave me feedback suggested post 3 as the person didn’t get the reference
to Taylor Swift with “the music industry” which means its inclusion in the post didn’t make
sense.
However, I have decided not to change it as fans of Taylor Swift will understand it as it is a
nickname that her fans use for her in this case fans of Taylor Swift are the target audience,
so it makes more sense to leave it in as most users looking at it will understand the
nickname and appreciate the reference.

Evaluation
Project
I believe that I have met all the client requirements which were to create social media
accounts to help Monkey Claw Recording Studios to promote their business. Another
requirement is to try and attract more females to the business as at the minute their users
are predominantly male. The last requirement is to help build a community so there is a safe
place for like-minded people to share ideas and work.
I believe I met the requirement for encouraging more female users by first using TikTok as it
does have more active female users than male users. Another way I meet this is that in the
post content link the artist especially if their fanbase is mainly female will go onto that
artist's page as well so their fans would see it.
I have achieved the second requirement of promoting the business by mentioning the
business a lot in the post content that I made and including pictures that show the recording
studio to show the equipment and showing artists using Monkey Claw studio to encourage
users to want to come to the studio as well.
The last requirement is to help Monkey Claw build a community which is safe and active. I
have started the groundwork for this but using posts that give user attention and posts that
make people want to interact such as polls is helping to build a community to establish a
community the company will have to continue using my plan and keep building on the
ground that I started.
In conclusion, I have fulfilled all the client's requirements including helping build a
community the company will just have to continue what I started and in time they will have
a thriving community that will be safe provided that the business stays active in keeps an
eye on the chat and remove toxic people from them. Using this content module that I create
will ensure that Monkey Claw Recording Studio will expand and thrive.

The Gnant chart above this how the timescale for this project turned out. As you can see
between them most of the tasks got done according to what I explained in the first chart the
only changes were that it took less time to create than I thought it would.
However, the Gnant chart also shows that it took longer to get the second amount of
feedback as I wanted to get them all face to face so that I could see their facial expressions
when they looked at them to get more information about their options. This is why getting
feedback took longer than I thought it would according to the first Gnant chart.
Even with this slight delay, I believe I managed my time well being able to meet up with all 6
of the people who gave me feedback for a face-to-face meeting. I took time to help Lucy a
little with making her content which is shown in the image below from our chat on Teams.

With all this, I still finished the whole project including all the requirements that the client
specifically wanted me to include a day early, so it gave me time to double-check everything
before handing it in.
