1] Dimensions and Measures
- Dimensions contain qualitative values and Categorical attributes that
provide context to data, such as names, dates, categories, or geographic locations. Dimensions can be used to group data into meaningful categories and can affect the level of detail in a view. For example, in a chart, dimensions can be used to group data into box plots or bar charts. - Measures contain numeric, quantitative values that you can measure. Numerical values that can be measured or analyzed, such as sales, profits, quantities, or percentages. Measures are created using aggregate functions, such as SUM or COUNT, and do not require a pre-defined grouping dimension. For example, if you're summarizing data by a specific metric, the field you're choosing is a measure.
