OBJECTIVES:
The primary objective of the idea-solving and ideation workshop organized by the
Institution's Innovation Council (IIC) at the National Institute of Technology Calicut
(NITC) was to foster innovative thinking among students and faculty. By engaging with
Dr. Sherin Sam Jose, an expert in the field and CEO of Startups Valley at Amal Jyothi
TBI, participants were exposed to structured methods of generating and refining ideas.
This exposure aimed to enhance their problem-solving skills and creativity, enabling
them to approach challenges with a fresh perspective and develop viable solutions.
The workshop was designed to demystify the processes of idea generation and
implementation, making them accessible and applicable to real-world scenarios.
The Institution's Innovation Council (IIC) at the National Institute of Technology Calicut
(NITC) hosted an impactful idea-solving and ideation workshop aimed at fostering
innovation and entrepreneurial thinking among its students and faculty. The event
featured Dr. Sherin Sam Jose, the CEO of Startups Valley at Amal Jyothi Technology
Business Incubator (TBI), as the keynote speaker. Dr. Sherin is renowned for his
expertise in nurturing startups and guiding entrepreneurial ventures. His session
provided attendees with a clear, step-by-step understanding of idea solving and
ideation processes. By incorporating real-world examples, Dr. Sherin made complex
concepts more relatable and easier to grasp, ensuring that participants could apply
these insights to their own projects and research.
Coordinated by Dr. Preethi M., the Vice President of IIC NITC and CEO of TBI NITC,
the workshop was meticulously organized to maximize learning and engagement. Dr.
Preethi’s leadership in this initiative highlighted the institution’s commitment to
cultivating an environment that encourages innovation and supports entrepreneurial
efforts. The workshop not only aimed to impart valuable knowledge but also to inspire
participants to think creatively and pursue their ideas with confidence. By bringing
together experienced professionals and enthusiastic learners, the event successfully
created a platform for knowledge exchange, collaboration, and the promotion of a
vibrant innovation ecosystem at NITC.
4. Strengthened Innovation Ecosystem: The collaboration between the IIC, TBI NITC,
and external experts like Dr. Sherin Sam Jose reinforced the support system for
innovation at NITC. The workshop fostered a sense of community and collaboration,
encouraging ongoing exchange of ideas and resources among participants.
