EMCEE SCRIPT FOR ART’S MONTH 2023

Emcee: May I request everyone to please settle down and find their comfortable sits as
we are about to begin our program.

Emcee: Ladies and Gentlemen, today we are celebrating Art’s Month. As we are all
aware there are different categories in today’s program. We are here to witness the
category D events namely the literary contest.

To start, I would like to invite our judges to have their seats.

Emcee: Let’s have a little refresh why literary competition is part of celebrating Art’s
Month. Art is often defined as the product of creative expression. Some can easily refer
art in terms of painting and drawing while others include music and dancing as well.
Following the definition per se, indeed, some of the literary works are known to be a
work of arts. And it has a long and rich history. The earliest recorded literary work dates
back to around 2100 BCE, though people have certainly been telling each other stories
much longer. Literary work is a form of art because the author communicates ideas and
experiences to the reader and hearer. Stories told in literary work connect to individual
readers, affecting them in much the same way that other kinds of art does. Poetry as a
literary work, in as much as music does, express imagery in different styles, pattern and
rhythm. Arts can be expressed not only through paintings and music but also in literary
writings.

In today’s event, these are the sets of competition that we will be witnessing. We have
extemporaneous speech and essay writing for our morning program. And for our
afternoon program we have declamation, speech choir, sabayang pagbigkas, and
storytelling.

But before we begin, let’s have roll call of our participants in our morning event. They
will have their draw lots as for the sequence of the competition. Both extemporaneous
speech and essay writing will be held simultaneously. While we will have the
