Pre-Implementation Strategies for GLOW-UP: A MAKE-UP MASTERCLASS
To ensure the success of "GLOW-UP: A MAKE-UP MASTERCLASS," consider the
following strategies during the planning and preparation phase:

1. Define Objectives and Target Audience

 Objectives: Clearly outline the goals of the masterclass, such as skill-
building, confidence enhancement, and creative self-expression.
 Target Audience: Identify the primary participants (e.g., teens,
professionals, aspiring makeup artists, beginners). Tailor the content and
delivery to their specific needs and experience levels.

2. Develop a Comprehensive Curriculum

 Content Outline: Break down the session into modules (e.g., Skin Prep,
Foundation Techniques, Eye Makeup, Creative Looks).
 Time Allocation: Assign appropriate time for theory, demonstrations, and
hands-on practice.
 Inclusivity: Ensure content accommodates different skin tones, types, and
preferences.

3. Select a Qualified Facilitator

 Engage a professional makeup artist or beauty expert with experience in
teaching.
 Ensure the facilitator has excellent communication skills and the ability to
create a positive, engaging atmosphere.

4. Assemble Required Materials and Tools

 Participant Kits: Provide essential items like brushes, sponges, and a basic
makeup palette for attendees to use during the workshop.
 Demonstration Supplies: Ensure the facilitator has all necessary products
for live demos.
 Venue Setup: Arrange mirrors, adequate lighting, seating, and workstations
for a comfortable experience.

5. Promote the Workshop Effectively

 Marketing Plan: Use social media, email campaigns, and flyers to promote
the event. Highlight the workshop’s benefits and any special offers.
 Visual Appeal: Share before-and-after makeup looks or teaser videos to
attract interest.
 Early Bird Registration: Offer discounts for early sign-ups to secure
participants in advance.

6. Create Pre-Session Engagement Activities

 Send a welcome email with a brief introduction, workshop schedule, and
what participants should bring.
 Share a short survey to understand participants’ skill levels, preferences,
and expectations.
 Offer a pre-workshop tip sheet on skin preparation or makeup basics to
build anticipation.

7. Prepare Logistical Arrangements

 Venue: Book a location with good ventilation, natural lighting, and space
for hands-on activities.
 AV Equipment: Set up cameras, projectors, or screens to ensure all
participants can see demonstrations clearly.
 Safety and Hygiene: Provide sanitizers, disposable applicators, and clean
tools for all participants.

8. Establish a Feedback Mechanism

 Develop pre- and post-workshop surveys to gather insights on expectations
and satisfaction.
 Use feedback to refine the curriculum and delivery methods for future
sessions.

9. Partner with Relevant Brands or Sponsors

 Collaborate with makeup brands to provide samples, giveaways, or
discounted products for attendees.
 Engage local beauty stores or influencers to help promote the event and
add credibility.
During Implementation of GLOW-UP: A MAKE-UP MASTERCLASS
To ensure a smooth and engaging experience during the workshop, focus on the
following key elements:

1. Welcoming Participants
 Registration and Check-In: Greet attendees warmly, confirm registrations,
and distribute workshop materials (e.g., kits, handouts).
 Icebreaker Activity: Start with a short introduction or fun activity to make
participants feel comfortable and build rapport.
 Set Expectations: Outline the workshop’s schedule, objectives, and rules
(e.g., hygiene practices, questions during the session).

2. Delivering the Curriculum

 Structured Modules:
o Begin with foundational topics (e.g., skin prep) and progress to
advanced techniques (e.g., contouring or creative looks).
o Allocate time for demonstrations, hands-on practice, and Q&A within
each module.
 Interactive Demonstrations: Use live models or yourself to showcase
techniques while explaining step-by-step.
 Hands-On Practice: Guide participants through each step, offering
personalized feedback as they work on their own faces or practice models.

3. Facilitating Engagement and Interaction

 Encourage Questions: Create an open environment where participants feel
comfortable asking for clarification.
 Peer Sharing: Allow attendees to share their progress and techniques with
each other for collaborative learning.
 Use Visual Aids: Provide printed guides, visuals, or a projected screen for
better clarity during demonstrations.
 Real-Time Feedback: Offer constructive and encouraging feedback to boost
confidence and improve technique.

4. Ensuring Smooth Logistics

 Time Management: Stick to the planned schedule but remain flexible to
adjust based on participant needs.
 Tool and Product Distribution: Ensure everyone has access to necessary
tools, products, and mirrors.
 Technical Support: Have AV equipment (e.g., cameras, projectors) ready
and tested to avoid disruptions.
 Hygiene and Safety: Reinforce clean practices by providing sanitizers,
disposable applicators, and tissue as needed.

5. Encouraging Creativity
 Experimentation: Give participants opportunities to try different colors,
styles, and techniques to discover what works best for them.
 Customization: Provide guidance on adapting techniques to suit individual
features and preferences.
 Showcase Time: Allow participants to display their finished looks and
celebrate their efforts.

6. Wrapping Up the Session

 Recap and Key Takeaways: Summarize the skills learned and provide
additional tips for practice.
 Q&A Session: Reserve time for final questions or one-on-one guidance.
 Feedback Collection: Distribute feedback forms to gather insights on
participants’ experiences.

attendees’ achievements.
