Computer Networks and Security

Course Description: This course introduces students to the fundamental

principles of computer networks and security. Topics include network
architecture, protocols, IP addressing, network design, wireless networking,
and security measures to protect network infrastructure. Students will
engage in practical activities to design, configure, and secure networks,
preparing them for real-world challenges in network administration and
cybersecurity.

Course Objectives: By the end of the course, students will be able to:

1. Understand and apply the foundational concepts of network

architecture, protocols, and IP addressing.

2. Design, implement, and troubleshoot secure network infrastructures.

3. Analyze and apply security measures to protect networks against

vulnerabilities and threats.

Course Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, students will

be able to:

1. Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of network architectures,

protocols, and their roles in modern communication systems.

2. Design and implement secure, scalable, and efficient network

infrastructures tailored to specific organizational needs.

3. Evaluate and apply advanced security techniques to safeguard

networks against cyber threats and vulnerabilities.
