a) Explain the operation of Full wave bridge rectifier with neat and clean diagram. Also
derive expression of the Ripple Factor for this rectifier. Mention the Advantages of bridge
rectifier over centre tapped rectifier.
b) For the Zener diode network of Fig. 3, determine VL, VR, IZ, and power dissipated by the
Zener diode (PZ)

Also explain different operating regions by indicating them on characteristic curves.
Q 4. Answer any two parts of the following. 10x2= 20
a) Derive the expressions of voltage gain, input impedance, output impedance of an n-
channel JFET based comman source amplifier.
b) Describe the construction and principle of operation of n-channel JFETs and draw the
input and output Characteristic curves for device.
c) For the CG amplifier circuit shown in Fig.4, calculate Ri, A, and Ro. The FET has gm
=0.0025 mhos, rds = 50 kΩ, RL = 4 kΩ and Rs=1 kΩ.

b) Draw the circuit of CE amplifier, including biasing network. Obtain its ac circuit. Draw
the ac circuit replacing the transistor by its low-frequency h-parameter model. Derive
expressions for Current gain (AI), Input resistance (Ri), Voltage gain (AV), Overall
voltage gain (AVS ) and Output impedance( RO).
c) (i) Reduce the Boolean expression Y ABC+ABC +ABC+ABC using Boolean laws.
(ii) For the fig.5, derive the Boolean expression of Y.
