Exercise: Bowl
4. Create the following sketch on the planar surface. Use a Convert Entities by selecting
existing edge of the surface.
5. Create a new Plane. As a first reference select Top Plane and as a second reference
the point as is shown.
6. On the new plane create a new sketch. This is semicircle (Center point and end points
are in horizontal relation).
7. Boundary Surface. For Direction 1 select two sketches previously created and for
Direction 2 select two edges as shown.
Swept Surface
Revolving Surface
Intersection Curves
1. Open file Candle holder.

between Line and Helix.
5. Create a surface with Swept surface using sketch previously created and Helix.
6. Create a 3D Sketch using Intersection Curve (Tools / Sketch Tools / Intersection Curve). Select
Surface Revolve 1 and Surface Sweep 1. A 3D Sketch is created from the intersection of the two
surfaces.
7. Hide two surface bodies. Edit 3D Sketch1 and connect two curves previously created with a
line.
8. Choose solid Swept, select 3D Profile previously created and define diameter 0.260in.
9. Create Circular Pattern and created 12 instances of solid previously created around Axis1.
10. Create a sketch on the Front Plane for Base as shown and …
…and a sketch for Candle holder.
CONGRATULATION!!!
Boundary Surface
Planar Surface
Revolve Surface
Knitting Surface
Fillet
Thickening
1. Open file Bottle.
2. Use Boundary Surface (Lofted Surface also works). For Direction 1 select two profiles as
shown and for Direction 2 (Right click in the Direction 2 block and select Selection Manager –
Open Loop) four curves that connect those two profiles.
3. Choose Planar Surface and select all edges at the bottom to create a new surface.
4. On the Front Plane create the following sketch (2 lines). Use Pierce relation between the
point of the horizontal line and the horizontal edge.
5. Use Revolve Surface and create the following surface.
7. Use Thicken tool with thickness 0.09in with direction to the inside of the bottle.
8. Create a new Plane with 0.09 in Offset Distance from the top face of the neck.
9. Create a sketch on the new plane by converting the upper circular edge.
10. Create a Sweep Path for the Thread by using Helix/Spiral as shown.
11. On the right plane create the following sketch. Add Pierce relation between midpoint of the
vertical line (0.08in) and path.
12. Use a solid Sweep and sweep the profile along the path to create the thread.
13. Create a new sketch by converting the face at the end of the thread.
14. Revolve the previous sketch around the vertical line (0.08in) to round off the ends.
15. Repeat the process from the step 13 for the second end of the thread.
16. Repeat the process from the step 14 for the second end of the thread.
17. Use a Fillet and round the bottom edges with radius 0.30in.
18. Use a Fillet and round the upper edge with radius .1in.
If your work looks something like this one below you have made it!

Loft Surface
Ruled Surface
Fillet
1. Open file Shovel.
2. Choose Loft Surface. Select 2 profiles and a point. Right click on the Guide curves,
click Selection Manager and …
…choose 2 guide lines on the one side to create an Open Group and press ok.
Right click and choose Selection Manager again and choose 2 guide lines on the other
side.
Click ok.
3. On the Top Plane create the following sketch.
4. Choose Split Line. Select sketch and two faces as shown to split the faces.
5. Use Ruled Surface (Normal To Surface). Select four edges. Distance 3mm.
6. Create a 3D Sketch, choose Convert Entities and select the following edges.
7. Use Loft Surface. Select two profiles and guide curve as shown.
8. On the Plane 4 create the following sketch. Use Convert Entities and Offset Entities
1mm inside.
15. Use a Fillet with radius 300mm and select the following edges.
If your work looks something like this one below you have made it!
CONGRATULATION!!!
4. Offset Surface. Select a face that was created by Split and offset distance 5mm in
reverse direction.
5. Hide the main body.
14. Split Line. Select two circles and a body to create a split.
15. Offset Surface. Select two faces previously created and create offset surfaces 1 mm
as shown.
16. Boundary Surface. Select two following edges to close the gap.
17. Boundary Surface. Repeat the process (Step 16) for the other split and offset surface.
18. Fillet. Select two edges as shown to create a fillet with radius of 5 mm.
If you final model looks something like this one below you have made it.
CONGRATULATION!!!
