formance characteristics of vehicles, including acceleration, braking, and dynamic
axle loads.
2309335T.CEO.2: Analyze aerodynamic principles and their effects on vehicle performance, including
drag components, pressure distribution, and the utilization of aerodynamic aids.
2309335T.CEO.3: Analyze suspension kinematics, including types of suspensions, geometric properties,
anti-squat/pitch/dive, roll center analysis, and the selection of suspension elements
for optimal vehicle dynamics
2309335T.CEO.4: Evaluate tire mechanics concepts, including construction, tractive properties, cor-
nering properties, and the influence of factors such as slip, camber thrust, and rolling
resistance on Vehicle handling.
COURSE OUTCOMES :
After successful completion of the course, students will be able to,
2309335T.CO.1: Apply principles of vehicle dynamics to analyze and optimize vehicle performance
characteristics[L3].
2309335T.CO.2: Demonstrate the ability to analyze aerodynamic principles and their impact on vehicle
design and performance[4].
2309335T.CO.3: Analyze suspension kinematics and select appropriate suspension elements to optimize
vehicle dynamics[L4].
2309335T.CO.4: Evaluate tire mechanics concepts and their influence on vehicle handling[L5].
COURSE ABSTRACT:
This course provides an in-depth exploration of the principles and applications of vehicle dynamics,
focusing on the analysis and understanding of vehicle behavior in motion. Through theoretical lectures,
practical demonstrations, and hands-on exercises, students will gain comprehensive knowledge of the
factors influencing vehicle dynamics, including vehicle design, tire characteristics, suspension systems,
and control mechanisms.
