INDISCRIMINATE OPERATION OF
UNLOADERS CAN RESULT IN
EXCESSIVE ROD LOAD (DIFFERENTIAL
FORCE ACROSS THE PISTON).
Rod Load Calculation:
Compression - (Area of head end of the piston
multiplied by compressor discharge pressure)
minus (Area of crank end of the piston
multiplied by compressor suction pressure).

DOUBLE ACTING

Tension - (Area of crank end of the piston


multiplied by compressor suction pressure)
minus (Area of head end of the piston
multiplied by compressor discharge pressure)
