(PICME 2.0)
Introduction:
In 2008, PICME was developed by the National Informatics Centre for the
Department of Public Health and Preventive Medicine, is now revamped as
‘PICME 2.0’ with new updated modules. PICME captures 11 lakhs of
AN Mothers annually. 8713 VHNs in rural areas and 1846 UHNs in urban
areas have been given user ID and password, and Institutional Delivery Entry
Login has been provided to all Government Health institutions to enter their
delivery data.

Geographical Coverage:
Both in Rural and urban area of the entire state of Tamil Nadu is
covered.
PICME 2.0 web portal captures the details of pregnant women starting
from Eligible couple registration to till 16 years age of the child
through Village Health Nurse / Urban Health Nurse.
Each mother are given a unique ID called RCH ID.
The Government of Tamil Nadu has made it compulsory to register all
pregnancies in this system.
Birth Certificate will be issued only if RCH ID is available with the
mother.
Using this number, the details of the mother can be viewed at any
level.
EMRIs (Emergency Management and Research Institutes & 108
Ambulance service) have been given login ID for using PICME, so that
they can take list of EDD mothers from the system and call the
mothers to give pick up services to the mothers to hospital for delivery.
This software is also linked with Birth and Death registration software
(CRS).
The detail entered in this software determines the eligibility status of a
mother to Dr. Muthulakshmi Reddy Maternity Benefit Scheme.
Registration of Pregnancy
2. By Pre-Registration
If the pregnant mother is new to the area and not able to contact her
area Village Health Nurse / Urban Health Nurse, she can
Pre-register her pregnancy using following methods. SMS will be
sent to mother’s mobile with the Pre-registration details.
(a) Through online:
The Pregnant mother can call the toll free number “102”
and Pre-register her pregnancy.
